I think this is just depressing...

Really, I don't want to think of MG without Kojima and/or Snake. It just wouldn't be the same. I remember when MGS2 first came out, and the inevitable switch to Raiden had so many of us let down to see that snake's playable role in the game had ended. I just don't think I can take that again...

Come on guys, Old Snake has to die. Do we really want to play MGS5 with Snake on a walker? And having to shake the sixaxis every time he throws his back out?

Imagine the vehicle scenes where his left blinker never turns off.

haha! Or having to shake the controller to wake him up when he falls asleep on the wheel.

Maybe a remake of MGS 1 ? That'd be awesome playing as young Snake in 1080p on Shadow Moses.
What you think about that ?

As fun as that sounds, the entirety of MGS1 was already made a few years back in Twin Snakes for the Cube. Yet another remake would be a bit overkill, methinks.

I would really like to see a "Metal Gear Liquid" so we can see Liquid's rise in the SAS, to his capture in Iraq, and his eventual rescue, time in working for the CIA, then at the end an introduction to Foxhound. That would be glorious.

Of course, the games also jump forward and backward around the timeline like that dude from Quantum Leap, so just because MGS4 chronicles the "end" of the Snake saga, doesn't mean that subsequent games can't address the beginning or the middle.

This isn't a spoiler guys!!! Its Hideo Kojima we're talking about!!!!

Expect the Unexpected!!!

I personally think it won't be the end of Snake.. but rather the end of Snake as a soldier and him becoming a leader like General Cambell.. I feel that the next character won't even be Raiden but rather a woman and I feel that something is going to happen and Raiden will be the next EVIL BOSS.. Shit fellas they could clone Snake and start the whole process over again!! LMAO either way it goes this franchise will never die nor will Snake..

What do you guys thing??

You're right, we should never expect the expected when playing a Kojima Metal Gear game, so I can't really just assume that Snake will die. As far as the future of the franchise goes, I'm not sure I care very much... Metal Gear without Kojima is nothing, no attention to detail, no humorous easter eggs etc...

"Metal Gear without Kojima is nothing, no attention to detail, no humorous easter eggs,"

...no naked dudes with their hineys in the air and a pixelated filter covering it up, no guards with diarrhea...it just wouldn't be the same.

:) I still love the ketchup trick that freaks out that sick guard. Kojima is a master storyteller that still makes you laugh even if it's a WTF laugh.

Back in time again? So, you mean another cop-out and, like always, the fans of Kojima plot suicide are going to stand in line to drop to their knees, get thumped in the face and.... yeah, you how the rest of this goes.

Cop-out? Excuse me? MGS3 introduced an amazing control scheme, pulled off outdoor stealth combat like nobody ever had before, and was an overall great game.

It wasn't what the public was expecting, but Kojima didn't become one of the most recognizable and beloved developers in the gaming world by sticking to the norm.

Anything could happen at this point. Recall that the MGS2 trailers were filled will all manner of Red Herrings that never happened.

The headings of the games could simply change; it could be "Metal Gear Plus Plus" for all we know. I'm hoping/guessing that perhaps whatever is killing Snake will be cured at the very last moment, much like the "Escape from New York City" film, or as I've said on some other floating post on ps3fanboy, he dies but miraculously revived or reborn.

Putting Metal Gear story points into a headline is really obnoxious. Someone who hasn't seen the "maybe suicide" trailers might be pissed.
