When we told you that Metal Gear Solid 4 wouldn't be the last of the Metal Gear games, we had no idea the next towering achievement in the series would be announced so soon and that it would be so ... small. Gamesindustry.biz reported today that Metal Gear Solid Mobile (winner of two 2007 International Mobile Gaming Awards) would be coming to no one's favorite platform: The N-Gage.
Expect N-Gage-exclusive content in the game, set to launch shortly after MGS 4 hits stores. But also, expect it to be on the N-Gage, so expect yourself to have forgotten about the whole shebang before hour's end.

Most of Nokia's new N series phones can play N-Gage games. The N-Gage phone died ages ago, but the brand and software still trundles on.

N-Gage is now a service for most new N-series Symbian 60 phones. It isn't a specific device any longer. I am going to upgrade to a N81 soon, so hopefully this will hit by then.

This is available outside of the N-Gage platform, anyway, so I really don't even understand the point. I really hope that the N-Gage platform irons out the performance issues that you can have some phone to phone, though, as MGSM tended to have sporadic performance issues at times. Still, awesome game.

I think you people are seriously confused about what the Ngage is now.The Ngage isn't the crappy taco phone you all know and love. It's a service, much like XBLA/PSN where you can buy games to download onto specific Ngage compatible phones. It's called the Ngage 2.0 Mobile gaming service. The compatible phones are normal phones, but with slight tweaks to make them more comfortable to game on.Like the N81, it's a spiffy looking phone, pricey, but I'm getting it because I like it.It just so happens that the phone is compatable with this crap, so I will be getting this game.I hope this clears stuff up.

That clears it up...I don't think I've seen any advertising for N-Gage as a service ever.

Regardless of what the definition of N-gage is now, I think most people can agree that it is a brand that has left a sour taste in too many peoples' mouths to be a viable money-maker in 2008. Then again, if there was ever another life-giving brand to latch onto, it would be Metal Gear. If it's going to move $400-$500 PS3s, I'm sure it'll move some mobile phones.

This is for the new N-gage phones not for the original N-gage and N-gage QD phone

Don't confuse with the old N-gage. Newer or some older Nokia N-series phones like N95 are compatible with the new N-Gage service (which is more similar to XBLA or PSN).

Well, I have an n-gage haha. For a phone, its pretty sweet. I mainly bought it for the 5 mega pixel camera. I guess I can also enjoy some metal gear on it. Sweet, metal gear to work, at work, at home. Everywhere.

When cellphone game graphics are catching up with DS graphics, it's safe to say that times are changing.
I somehow hope that cellphone games will become big in other places than Asia.
