New DS 'colours' hitting Europe [update]

Put down that masking tape and spray paint. At least one European retailer is advertising a better – official – solution to your ~~want~~ ~~need~~ hunger for a spiffier-colored DS (and one that doesn't require sending your lil' buddy into the gizmo body shop). Spanish online games shop Game.es has listed three new DS Lite offerings – "~~Slime~~ Lime Green," "Hot Red," and "Ice Blue" – with on-virtual-shelf dates of June 13, 2008.

Sure, they could be quick Photoshop-ery, but a retailer isn't exactly going to win over customers by taking pre-orders for hardware that will never be. We hope they're legit and will pop up on US shelves before the year's out. Now, can we please have some new Wii colors?

Damn, how well would the Wii sell if offering in multiple colors?

I remember when multicolored N64s were introduced late into the console's lifespan, it gave it one last big jump in sales.

I believe the expression "chocolate covered crack" springs to mind.

Well, judging by the current sales, if they add more colors, well...they'd probably be able to take control of the world's power system's and take over the economy and thus - the world.

They'll make new colors as soon as they can actually have white Wiis on shelves for more than one day.

Am I the only person disturbed by the imagery evoked by the words, "chocolate covered crack?"

Seriously, why do consoles and handhelds nowadays lack so much color and choice (e.g. matte or -ugly- gloss)?!

I'd kick your puppy for that Lime DS. I adore gaudy colored electronics. My phone, my headphones, hell, if they made the iPod classic in hot pink, I'd probably replace my boring white one with that.
