Never heard of them. I'm going to be spending enough on Rock Band this Friday - £180 on the game, plus I don't know how much DLC. So I'll leave this, thank you. Still, albums are good - I'm looking forward to Nevermind.
Eric @ May 20th 2008 3:48PM
How do you know know who the cars are? Come on man? There such a great band.
Odog4ever @ May 20th 2008 3:58PM
+1 for Nevermind
I wanna play "Smells like Teen Spirt" now! You hear me Harmonix? (shakes fist)
Raikage (LDF CRAB BATTLE!!!) @ May 20th 2008 4:04PM
Yeah the Cars are awesome, and Oseck is an amazing producer too.
Actually he produced my favorite album of all time, and if it goes up as DLC I'll buy a 360/PS3 and RB just for it.
BTW it's the Blue Album by Weezer :D
Cesaria (MKW:2621-2994-1376) @ May 20th 2008 5:16PM
Heard the Red Album yet, Raikage? I actually like it. BTW, Pinkerton FTW :P
klitorisaurus @ May 20th 2008 6:15PM
I hate it when the first post is written by a tool.
Tiptup300 @ May 20th 2008 11:23PM
FURST!?
RobLink (MKWii code : 0989 1866 6646) @ May 21st 2008 7:21PM
And what makes me a tool exactly? I didn't post that to be 'furst!!1!', I posted it to make my comment known. For me, this won't be a purchase as >£200 (>$400 FYI) is enough on Rock Band for one week, and I don't know who they are. For you (presumably), it'll be a purchase as you do know who they are. To me, that =/= -1.
*grumpy*
Prof. Hinsley @ May 20th 2008 3:38PM
I have heard of them!
macgyver @ May 20th 2008 3:42PM
i'll be getting just the first three. don't know the last six.
marauder800 @ May 20th 2008 3:50PM
If you know the first 3, I'd bet you'd know most of the others if you heard them.
Eric @ May 20th 2008 3:53PM
You have to get moving in stereo man, its a definitive track of the 80's
danny. @ May 20th 2008 3:54PM

Who's Next?
Chase @ May 20th 2008 4:16PM
Where is Who's Next?, indeed.
Zoot Suit Jedi @ May 20th 2008 8:34PM
They will not get any more of my dollars until I see some "Baba O'Riley" or "Bargain."
deaftly @ May 20th 2008 3:43PM
Such a damn good album, this is an instant purchase.
Co @ May 20th 2008 3:43PM
Aww man The Cars. Talk about THE definition of 80s music.
Noel @ May 20th 2008 3:46PM
I like the Cars, but would prefer variety instead of full albums. How about releasing 9 songs from 9 different bands in a single week.
copa @ May 20th 2008 4:01PM
"How about releasing 9 songs from 9 different bands in a single week."
Uh, you mean like they did today?
tr1cky tpr @ May 21st 2008 5:47PM
LOL, ownd!
Burritoclock @ May 20th 2008 3:46PM
Sweet! So much better than the last few weeks.
Eric @ May 20th 2008 3:47PM
Fuck yeah!

The Cars Rule!
LeadBoxx @ May 20th 2008 3:53PM
The CARS are an EPIC BAND!
BetterLivingThroughScience @ May 20th 2008 3:55PM
damnit! where's doolittle?!?
Hey Apples @ May 20th 2008 4:15PM
FYI, last I heard the Cars album was scheduled for May, and Doolittle for June.
Cesaria (MKW:2621-2994-1376) @ May 20th 2008 5:29PM
I've been craving Doolittle. I can't wait to see someone TRY to pull off anything Black Francis does. Tame FTW!
bounchfx @ May 20th 2008 3:56PM
I'm all over this. I haven't heard of them either before. Know what I did? Instead of ignoring songs I didn't know, I went out and listened to them. The album is awesome, albiet a little on the easy side (at least it sounds that way).
Will be getting them all. Great Album. (this is coming from a death metal fan)
T3KK9 @ May 20th 2008 4:09PM
wow, could I NOT care about this any less?
Come ON Harmonix! Where's Metallica's Black album, and fucking Nevermind...y'know, the ones you said you'd have at LAUNCH--DAMN NEAR A YEAR AGO?
Of course that's just my opinion...I could be wrong ;)
jsn @ May 20th 2008 4:31PM
actually they never confirmed either of those. Nevermind showed up in a leaked set list from a test system and the metallica album was "an unspecified metallica album". So settle down Beavis.
klitorisaurus @ May 20th 2008 6:18PM
Ha! Beavis!
+1
Prof. Hinsley @ May 20th 2008 4:12PM
160 MS points right, not 180. 3 of these songs are duds, so I guess it will still be cheaper to buy 6 at 160 MS a piece I think.
BBX Boy @ May 20th 2008 4:40PM
One of the best rock albums ever... I can't wait to get my hands on this!
Word to the naysayers:
Harmonix totally know what they're doing – they probably have market and research data showing that a good percentage of those of us hooked on Rock Band have been clamoring for stuff like this. I personally know a TON of friends and family of my generation (mid-late 30s) who are massive Rock Band addicts and are spreading the good word through sessions and parties – and my generation is bound to have more disposable income and spending power than younger fans of the most recent stuff.
It's impossible to please everybody - unless you like absolutely everything there are going to be DLC releases you don't care for. Harmonix is bound to get to the stuff you want eventually.
It would be interesting to see which DLC has been the most popular to date – I'm willing to bet it's the older/classic stuff. Harmonix would have to be insane not to devote more effort to those respective genres making them the most money.
J.Goodwin @ May 20th 2008 5:09PM
Oh fuck yes.
PojoMofo @ May 20th 2008 5:24PM
I will buy it because the girl in that pic looks like she will eat my brain if I dont...
Yuccadude @ May 20th 2008 5:48PM
Well, she did pass away since modeling for the picture, so come the zombie rebellion of 2012, you just may get your wish.
jsn @ May 20th 2008 8:04PM
oh and it's coming buddy, you better be sure of that. Are you ready though?? I am! Building my "In case of Zombies, break glass" case as we speak! http://gizmodo.com/assets/resources/2006/08/incaseofzombies.jpg
343 Guilty Fart @ May 20th 2008 5:32PM
Still needs moar Pink Floyd. Also I just noticed there's no Van Halen in Rock Band either. Needs more of that too.
Cesaria (MKW:2621-2994-1376) @ May 20th 2008 5:38PM
Okay, now give me every Cure, Smiths, Pixies, and Talking Heads album, and I'll sell Harmonix my soul.
Travis @ May 20th 2008 5:55PM
some of these songs are really good...but i'll have to pass...i tend to buy too much on RB DLC....like that Boston 6 pack...I need to prep for Doolittle and Nevermind and Who's Next
Moorio XBL: peacebyanymeans @ May 20th 2008 6:49PM
Hooray!
Neebs @ May 20th 2008 6:54PM
Going to be my favourite DLC.
RavenPaul @ May 20th 2008 8:37PM
I know some of the Cars, but nothing this early. No way I would buy that. Too old for a whole album download.
Anthony33 @ May 21st 2008 8:57AM
This album is amazing. It is almost a Cars greatest hits because the majority of their famous songs are off this album. Also wanted to tell those contemplating buying this to check out Bye, Bye Love. Not their most famous song but it is great nonetheless.
JJ Rooster @ May 21st 2008 9:02AM
