I've never been really interested in GameTap, how much a month is it?

$10 a month or $60 a year, but the best deal is to get a couple of buddies to go in on the year package with you. They give you 7 "sub" accounts that you can hand out for free, that also have full access. Six of us went in on a year subscription, so it was $10 a year per person. At that cost, it's been well worth it.

Yes, but only two accounts may be on at once, remember that.

@ Thatoneguy

True, I suppose with several people it would depend on gaming habits. It's just never come up as an issue with us. If someone were really worried about that, even if 2 people went in together on the year account, that's still only $2.50 a month, which is still an awesome deal for the content that's on there. Sam & Max, Torment and Xcom have been well worth it for me.

free one is good (if you're in the US). Try that and then see if the other games appeal to you.

(if anything, just play psychonauts!).

Just don't expect many up-to-date games on either service, its mostly retro stuff.

Outdoor Life: Sportsman's Challenge NOOOOOOO!!

But seriously, GameTap is worth the $10 monthly fee for Sam & Max alone, everything else is icing. Playing Ubisoft games like Prince of Persia and Beyond Good and Evil is great. Invest in a gamepad and you'll be in heaven.

GameTap also has one of the best interfaces I've seen in a LONG time. Easily navigable with gamepads, easy to find your way around in, looks GREAT, and makes finding new games to play a pleasure, not a chore. Their emulation is spot on, and the games available are incredible. Even at 60 a year it's a steal. I highly recommend downloading the free client, to see if it's something to be interested in. There's a good bit of good free games, too, including Psychonauts, which should be sending you there to DL it right now. You'll be interested, I almost guarantee it.

Hey the Descent series! There's an old Windows series I meant to play but could never find! Cool.

All great games, but what I wouldn't give for Realms of the Haunting to be released on Gametap as well. Anyone else remember that game? Anyone? Anyone? *sigh*

Interplay is still in the weak financial state they've had since 2004, but they're slowly working on a recovering.
