But still: Harmonix > Neversoft

Of course I'm not going to be buying this game. I already invested in Rock Band (The Big Box + a good amount of DLC), and I can't see myself paying all over again for a retooled drum set with an extra pad.
Is anyone who already has Rock Band seriously considering getting this?
But of course Neversoft's drums had to go and be different, so, there goes that idea. Oh well, your loss Neversoft.
Also, I looked up the phrase "Total Douche", from it's definition, that video is just filled with em!
I like Guitar Hero for it's crazy guitar songs and such, why can't they just stick with that and be happy. I just hope they aren't going to force us to buy the whole set of peripherals in one box like Rock Band, although I didn't mind at the time.

The thing I don't like about Guitar Hero III is that they focused in make the game extremely harder. I don't have Rock Ban, but I play it every week with my cousin. Even in difficult seting, the game is extremely fun.
That's what I look in music games. Fun. Not frustation.
Besides, there are some cool features in the new GH. And, yes, I think the drums look better, at worse, a bit more realistic.
Not exactly true. I don't see how Activision making bands sign exclusive contracts so they don't appear on the competition's game will benefit us. Did EA having exclusive rights to the NFL benefit gamers in any way?
It's just going to drive more dirty tricks and dumb flame wars. I've had enough of 'my console is better then yours' now we have to deal with this.

Less horrible camera work with those douchebags, more videos of the "most realistic drums" and gameplay.
Thanks.

F this cheesy knockoff attempt. Harmonix did it first and did it right.

...and dropped the ball.
I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you there. I think Harmonix dropped the ball on the shit drums. They're to damn loud they ruin the experience for everyone else in the room, hell, in the house.
From what I've read on the GH drums, that was the number one issue they've addressed, those damn loud ass drums. I, for one, will be happy to pick up Neversofts version of a band simply due to that fact. If they are as quiet as they're claiming, I'll put rockband away for good.
Too bad DrumMania is amazing.

Anyway.. it'll be interesting to see what they do with this. Harmonix has lots of time to steal their thunder. An online band world tour patch or online band vs. band, plus a few big name album releases would pretty much do the trick.

Unlimited Practice Mode.
Suck at trills? Do a 5 minute song full of trills.
Suck at bass drumming? Do a 5 minute song with bass drum rhythm.
That ALONE makes this game worth playing.

Now compatibility going the OTHER way might be a problem, given the extra pad.
I'm sticking with RB most likely.

The part I hate most is people's illusion of being rockers. No, you're playing a toy guitar and drums. A TOY! Back in the day, there was no illusion of being a rocker. The cool part was because it was a quirky Japanese game that few people even knew about, and even fewer were good at.
