It's not Wipeout, it's Fatal Inertia

It may not be Wipeout HD, but this new futuristic PSN racer has us strangely excited. Yeah, we know the original Xbox Fatal Inertia was a disaster. But can't we have hope that this PS3 revamp will do futuristic racing justice? The feel of Fatal Inertia certainly is different from Wipeout, as seen by this video. Instead of steel tracks in futuristic environments, we see a much more organic world to race through. This download will be rather pricey at $30, so it's far from an impulse buy. Hopefully, when we get our hands on it, we'll find it a suitable stop-gap until Studio Liverpool's futuristic racer drives on by.

Ok So i was ready for the blue shipped to the blowns out of the side of the track or something. why is Fatal?? do you fall and die? I can't shot it or knock it out of the stage?

It's called fatal inertia because you're vehicle is moving (inertia) at a (fatal) speed. I don't know what is so complicated about the name.

I had 2 hours of sleep!!.....

After trying out the 360 version, IMO they would have to do a LOT to sell me on this game. The controls were way too lose, and the tracks weren't very fun to race on. I hope this team can deliver on the game they set out to make, but I won't hold my breath.

Wipeout HD is a day-one PSN buy for me. Somehow I see Sony milking Wipeout HD with DLC, but like a sucker, I'll probably get it lol.

Yeah, I agree. Although I'd go one step further and say it was rubbish. I didn't like it at all..

They've AT LEAST improved the lenght of the tracks. However that doesn't help if the controls are as worse... :/
Like the others, WipEout HD is a definite purchase; this one not so much.

Yeah, I am a bit cautious on this. While I am sure it happens from time to time, most times a shitty original only spawns a shitty port, Lost Planet being a good recent example.

But hopefully this is the game to go against the flow and actually become good in its upgraded port.

Ya i think it was may then i think it was changed to june or july or something, really looking forward to it, havent played a wipeout game in so long.
