New Lost Odyssey DLC to be found on Friday
We don't know about you, but the list of things we could do for 50 hours and still want more of is an extremely short one. Well, there's breathing, natch. Then there's the obvious. But for us, the list ends there. Apparently though, there's some people who finished the 50 hours or so of Lost Odyssey and are still craving more. ... Or, at least, Microsoft's hoping they are. The company will release the Seeker of the Deep dungeon pack on Friday for 400 points ($5).
Is another helping of Lost Odyssey something you're in the mood for? Or have you moved on to other, more easily locatable expeditions?
[Thanks, zewone]

So sad, you get excited about a sub-par wanna-be not-Final Fantasy.
Hyams @ May 21st 2008 1:05PM
Lost Odyssey >>> Final Fantasy 12.
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ May 22nd 2008 2:37AM
Weren't the dudes behind the original Final Fantasy series responsible for Lost Odyssey?
Jerdude1234 @ May 21st 2008 9:46AM

I'm not even through the first disc yet...so I have a long way till I need DL content.

Same here. Team Fortress 2 pulled me away from it, then Crisis Core, Mario Kart and GTAIV kept me away.
I've got such a huge back catalog of RPGs I haven't finished that I'll probably need to take a few months off from work to get through them.
VampireHunter Z @ May 21st 2008 4:01PM
Crisis Core was really good. I just finished it. Wasn't sure about the gameplay before but it grew on me. I also think FF13 is moving in that direction in terms of gameplay.
I'm still yet to purchase Lost Odyssey but I will eventually.

I'm almost finished, but finding time to play single player game against my multiplayer fixation of COD4 and Halo3 along with GTA IV(Single player that is) is hard to do...........bah, I suppose I'll have to wrap it up soon or risk having my trade value drop like a rock.
PojoMofo @ May 21st 2008 9:54AM
but you can only DL half of the DLC, the rest is shipped to you on 3 discs wrapped in paper towels
deaftly @ May 21st 2008 10:03AM
what?
Knight Marquise @ May 21st 2008 10:19AM
Pojo...
Pretty impressive you were able to take your hands off of Sonys Shaft long enough to type that witty comment.
+1

C'mon Deaf, you remember the disgraceful packageing this thing came in, had 2 friends that bought the game, when they opened it up, one friend's disc 4 was all scratched up, but he never had a problem with it. The other had to get a replacement disc, and of course the replacement disc came back in the same sleeve as the original :)
plus, its hard for me to resist a good MS troll attempt whenever possible :)
danny. @ May 21st 2008 4:43PM
I bought and loved the game and still found your comment funny. My + won't help you though...
Erwos @ May 21st 2008 9:57AM
Very pleased that games like LO and ME are continuing to see DLC. Excellent stuff...
kladkain @ May 21st 2008 10:01AM
Anyone know how difficult this DLC dungeon is? I am on disc4 doing all of the sidequests.. my Party is around level 50, and I've got over 60 Hours sunk into the game =P
Is this dungeon something you have to do before completing the game? Or can it be done after?
Knight Marquise @ May 21st 2008 10:21AM
I've over 100 hours on this game, and you can bet I'll be purchasing this Friday. Anything to extend the adventures of Kaim & Company. Then again, I love these type of games, and this is why I'll purchase a few PS3's when FF comes out. (My daughter enjoys FF as well, so she'll get one too)
Deck @ May 21st 2008 11:25AM
Great to see the DLC still coming out for great RPGs like this. Though I am still on disk 3 i'll be waiting awhile before getting into any DLC I think.
BMErdin @ May 21st 2008 1:08PM
I'm only 10 hours in, still on the first disc. No need for a DLC dungeon yet.
And I'm not touching that first DLC. 1 ring and another item to rewatch cutscenes? No thanks.
sldtrap @ May 21st 2008 1:22PM
Your link, Justin.... Creeps me out, just as the Penn State line dancers did on the other end of it. Creepy.... like Lemmings.

Lost Odyssey is an excellent RPG--don't know why the article author is hating on it.
Here's hoping that the sequel delivers just as well as the first game--it's 50+ hours of JRPG gaming that hasn't been bested on any current gen system.
Gabriel @ May 21st 2008 3:03PM
This is such an awesome game. The only reason it isn't more popular is because it doesn't have the Final Fantasy name. Apparently, that's the only way to sell an RPG, even if said RPG is way better than anything Square has done in a while.
nealbailey @ May 21st 2008 3:10PM
"So sad, you get excited about a sub-par wanna-be not-Final Fantasy."
Wow, that's about as ignorant a statement as I can imagine a troll of your magnitude could spew.
I had an ex-girlfriend ask me when the Lost Odyssey commercials were airing if it was Final Fantasy. I laughed and explained, no it's a cheap ripoff. After all X-Play gave it a 2 and they're almost always spot on.
Then a few months later this same ex-girlfriend handed me her copy of Lost Odyssey and I told her I'd get around to playing it.
Needless to say, I put it in and it hasn't come out of the X360 ever since. It's an absolute masterpiece; in fact probably the best RPG I've played since FF7.
It's a shame that the game really gets outstanding in disc 4 where it transforms from a linear experience to a captivating RPG and I must assume that none of the reviewers got to disc 4 due to time constraints reviewers face.
If you like RPGs, do yourself a favor and buy this one NOW. Personally, I put it above Oblivion, Mass Effect, Kotor, FF8-FF12 right below FF7 (which is only fit since the Lost Odyssey team created FF7)
