New MGS4 screens sneak out

Vamp and Raiden are getting uncomfortably close up there, but we're thankfully getting comfortably close to Metal Gear Solid 4's June 12 release. Konami isn't slowing down the hype machine, today releasing a batch of fresh shots from Solid Snake's last hurrah.

The screens are mainly of scenarios previously seen in trailers for the game, but do include what appears to be a new cutscene grab along with a somber shot of Snake standing amid headstones in a cemetery (which is actually the backdrop of the game's title screen). Not included: screen grabs of Konami's web page for limited-edition MGS4 PS3 orders sporting a "server outage" message.

i would have liked to play as snake in all of MGS2 but the Raiden Twist was Kind of cool.

To be honest Raiden (Enough with the name jokes) was a good character I mean Raiden and Rose were really annoying at the begining but by the end (When everything made sense) both Rose and Raiden were great characters.I enjoyed MGS2 alot.

Raiden was bad ass IMO ... I like his backstory a lot

In one of the previews in the MGO Beta disc the fight between Raiden and Vamp is fucking amazing ... Can't wait for this game and hopefully I will be allowed to control Raiden for at least a few chapters

MGS 4 will win GOTY and will go down as the greatest game ever created ... The story alone will make The Premature Ass shed a tear and have a quivering lip for reasons unknown to him ...

You can all hype up GTA IV as setting a new standard in gaming (it is a great game) but it will be nothing to the majesty that is MGS 4 ...

If I didn't know better I would think that Gawd sent this game down from the heavens ...

And yes MGS4 will probably be a big deal. Like GTAIV it will recieve undeserved 10's from major reviewers for no other than the franchise name.

It will be hilarious to see if this backfires on you.

However this won't be Game of the Year.

That honor belongs to Gears of War 2 I believe.

MGS4 GotY? I highly doubt it.

I don't want it to get GotY but I can see WiiFit getting a whole load of awards. Maybe the title? Who knows. It won't be a PS3 title, too generic. How many more times are you sony lot going to learn that the PS3 isn't doing well and the games aren't great... Didn't Lair and Haze teach you anything? Hype+PS3 fails. even on the console itself.

That said generic films seem to fare well.

This is going to be a shock, but I don't think MGS4 will get GOTY. Like GEARS OF WAR2(or even RESISTANCE2 if it makes it this year in time), it'll be close. However, simply because GTAIV turned out good on both consoles released(despite a "hiccup" of problems initially), it'll end up going to it.

No, I don't personally entirely agree if GTA IV does take it - but given a lot of media outlet's track records and truthfully it is the closest of any game this year that's nearly worth a 10/10 score, it's a higher possibility than anything else right now. Though the only GTA games I liked were VICE CITY(PS2) and LIBERTY CITY STORIES(PSP) previously, but IV actually hooked me start-to-finish. The others were either nostalgic or simply amazement that it even could be done.

Why wasn't WiiFIT, 'BRAWL, or 'KART mentioned for GOTY? Of the three, 'BRAWL is most likely to occur because of the "at-the-time" ratings. If it were "re-rated" and "zero punctuated" today, I don't think it would've snagged as many 10/perfect scores.

It looks as if Raiden is suffering the gum disease known as gingivitis.
