Oh BTW, Square Enix has 'lineup' of Xbox 360 titles

Remember, oh ... an hour or so ago, when Square Enix announced a release date for Unfinite Indiscovery (or whatever it's called)? Spencer at Siliconera – or ol' eagle eyes, as we like to call him – spotted an interesting phrase in the accompanying press release, referring to IU as "the first in a completely new lineup of Square Enix titles for Xbox 360." Is that so?

Since it's a "new" lineup, we're pretty sure that the multiplatform Last Remnant would be included in there; however, we're quite certain that – in the ancient and often unknowable language of PR speak – a "lineup" could be as few as two titles so there may be nothing more to see here. Regardless, they did say "new lineup" so if you must speculate – and we know you must – let's save the "Final Fantasy XIII for Xbox 360 confirmed" diatribes for another day, hmm?

I would definitely buy that. (never finished it for PS)

Seriously that would probably be one of the best decisions Square Enix could ever make. It's a shame they probably wouldn't since they're so "loyal" to Sony.

360 FFVII remake = goldmine

It would be better to release it on the wii, or ds. The 360 would be the last console to get a FF7 remake. But it will never happen, it hasn't been that long since it came out, and the battle system is outdated.

A Final Fantasy VI would be a lot better.

And there's a rumor that the PS3's FFVII "remake" will just be the original on PSN basically with updated textures and BGs (if you believe(d) Surfer Girl).

What are you basing your claim on? Or is it just wishful thinking? I mean I know theres a KH game in development for the DS but I fail to see how that somewhow translates into the Wii getting Kingdom Hearts 3 exclusively....

I wouldn't mind it being on both the Wii and 360 though.

It's funny how the 360 is now the place to go to for Rpgs. I mean what does Sony have? FF13 right? And that's really all I can think of.

Well... the place for RPG's now is the DS.

But consoles, yes. The 360 has very good RPG's.

Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea 3, though both are strategy rpgs.

Does the PS3 actually 'have' those? As it stands those are nothing more than just "Wait until..." arguments PS3 enthusiasts use.

Folklore is an action rpg, there aren't many yet, but its its second year, the 360 didn't have any in its first year either, but MS is trying hard to pay for some japanese games. Disgaea 3 comes out in america in august, its already out in japan, same with valkyrie chronicles, it will come out in the fall, already out in japan, so u can buy them. Next year will be a better year if FF comes out.

VC and D3 have been released in Japan earlier this year.

Sorry Neptune, my comment was aimed at Vegata, concerning FFXIII and WKS. I didn't realise people would jump on his post so quickly :P

eternal sonata is coming soon to ps3 as well. really, the only rpgs it won't have are the mistwalker ones and the general consensus is they are what they are, but nothing to brag about. Valkyria Chronicles looks awesome too, but who knows if its good.

The PSP has been getting quite a few new RPGs and remakes.

A FF VII remake would be cool, and I might rent FF XIII.

We already know Last remnant is coming, and im sure they'll be more games for all platforms, the only problem with exclusives is that they won't sell in japan on 360 but on the ps3 they'll sell better in japan and europe but not america, i think the last remnant and infinite undiscovery are a testing ground to see how well the 360 can do for rpg games. They won't stop making ps3 games cuz FF will sell by the boatloads.

Any game they release for both systems will sell WAY better on the 360 in America.

It will probably sell better than the ps3 version in Europe OVERALL. In England it will be close but I suspect it would outsell the ps3 version there as well.

And in Japan the ps3 version would sell better.

Its not exactly rocket science...

Square Enix would be dumb not to consider the possiblity of putting a FF game on the 360.

Like it or not folks, the 360 has a better attach rate in the US, and it has a huge install base too.

I don't see why people have a hard time seeing that it would make money to sell 360 versions of the FF games. You may not like the idea of Sony losing them as an exclusive (though FF11 already went 360) but it just makes good sense if making cash is your concern.

That being said, the FF series is one of the reasons I have a PS2 & PS3. I always liked their rpg's and so PS is a must have. If they were to lose their exclusives in FF, it would have to be a damaging blow to them. (As I doubt I am the only one who gets the PS brand for RPG's)

man i am done with sqaure...last good ones IMO were FF7 and FF8. I handle my RPG fix with some non-linear Oblivion and some slightly linear Mass Effect.

i liked squall...:) he had a badass scar and i was in 6 grade when i got the game. that game was so great when i got it. i think its because i really dug the school...and the assassination part was sweet.

too bad i lost my copy of 8...least i still have 7

Specifically I would love to play FF10 and FFXIII. I loved 10 and 13 might turn out to be a decent game.

Perhaps it's Star Ocean IV. That's my guess.

Any FF game will sell amazing, no matter what system its on. Same for the monster hunter games (just look at the PSP boost from that game)
So the real question is, where would most sales come from, and the answer is easy, Japan. Crisis Core sold more copies in Japan on its first week than it did in US and Europe in a month combined. So considering the larger install base PS3 has in Japan, and that base will become much bigger after MGS4, SquareE would be stupid to make FF 360 exclusive. However, they would also be smart to make it a multiplatformer, like GTAIV. That would boost their sales in NA and Europe.

you have a point but i dont see sqaure enix backing the xbox 360 anytime soon infintey un look bad as hell and look like its had been rush square enix takes thier time with rpg they want to make good a rpg 2-3 years to be exact if its not on ps3 or psp or ds dont expect a great rpg from them.You guys remeber that space shooter they made last year for 360.

Man one poster mentions FF7 remake and teh thread goes nuts. I beat that game. Loved every minute of it. Probably the only RPG I've ever gone through since I'm not the biggest RPG fan (especially JRPG). So IMO, YES FF7 would be mother flipping awesome (although its not even a rumor yet) *sad face* if remade for 360.
