We don't have a lot to go on at the moment, but from what we can tell, these new screens from
Guitar Hero: World Tour represent a slightly more grown-up look for the series, straying from the silly rock clichés of
Guitar Hero III. It's still not quite at a
Rock Band level of realism, but we imagine fans of the series probably aren't ready for that.
In fact, though we've wished
Guitar Hero's look would grow up for a while now, the stylized characters and settings are one of the main things that are setting it apart from its competition, a distinction that, with the addition of drums and vocals to
World Tour, is becoming increasingly difficult to make.

I'm not trying to start any flames here, I know its a great series. I was just wondering as I seem to be the only one that has lost the love for these games...

I rather just see music add-ons for a while and then a new version when the one out begins to look stale. Not like this game is about the visuals anyway.
... +1. Can't really put it any better than that.

let's see a video before I make anymore assumptions, heh. might not be as big of a seller as it sounds though.:\
either way, it's looking good, if not extremely familiar

I am really glad though that the singer with an extra head for a jaw can finally leave my dreams.
Will we get to play kids' birthday parties as well?

*goes back to playing Rock Band*
Is it Friday yet?

This is good in the aspect that I can place it anywhere that's comfortable, but bad in that it will start sliding around during heavy usage.

Except, that wouldn't really work for the Wii.
Nor would they make the ridiculous sums of money off sequels and spinoffs.

1. Late to the game
2. Losing core fan interest.
As someone who has used sequencing and midi software through the years, it's not easy to track out songs. It's going to be even more difficult trying to do it with a controller and the big thing is...who would really rather play a questionably composed unknown song over a real playtested song by a band you know? It's a VERY VERY niche interest thing.

I've also got a feeling that it'll be cheaper.
On another note, I donno why people are complaining about this game. It was pretty obvious that this was gonna happen after rock band came out...how else would Activision be able to stay compeditive?
I can understand why the people who already have rockband won't be getting this(who honestly expects that the new drums will be compatible?), but for the people who haven't got it already, it gives them choice.
In the end, more choice it better for the consumer as it(should) drive prices down due to competition.
The other thing I hear someone saying was about exclusive DLC tracks. I would have thought that having your song on both Rockband and GH would make more sense since you'd be potentionally expanding your consumer base...in which case, if you went exclusive, you'd wanna be getting a pretty massive cheque to compensate for lost sales from the other game.
I donno...in the end I just hope it's not shit and that it actually gets realeased here. Rockband in September for $1000AUD?(what EB Games is asking for atm) Get real.

Oh yeah. From Rock Band.
Why own a copy when you can own the original?

I'm wondering what Harmonix is cooking up, if anything, in response to this in terms of more DLC, etc. Haven't I also heard rumors of a Rock Band 2.....?
The note chart stuff is definitely interesting, I just don't see Activision pulling it off. I wouldn't mind being wrong here, though.

That was just a really dumb move in GH3.

None the less I think this will still be a good game. Almost no matter what EVERYONE is going to be like "There trying to hard I hate this series now" SO I think as long as there like dont try to do anything crazy with it it'll be good.
THe music selection in all the games are good. You can't really blame them for that, you know how hard it must be? Plus to get the licenses and crap just to have the games on there? No chance that Zeppelin will ever make it to GH (though we can dream) but Zep. wont let them use there songs, and everyone says NEEDS MORE ZEPPELIN!
