We admit that the Wii is capable of many things, arm cramps and printing money chief among them, though even we had not counted resurrection among its laundry list of features. Yet that appears to be the case, at least with regards to formerly defunct original Xbox platformer The Kore Gang (shown above), with the title having been given new life as an upcoming release from Zoink Games and SnapDragon Games for the Wii.
Originally developed by Unique Development Studios, a Swedish outfit that closed its doors in 2004, the game now carries the shorter, and all-capital name KORE. As a title that originally began life on Microsoft's freshman console, thankfully the name is not all that's being revised. Publisher Zoink notes that much work has gone into the game's design and story, which tells of a trio of characters stuffed into a mechanical suit as they protect the center of the earth from bad guys, leaving us hoping that at least one of them is Brendan Fraser.

In this case, bring Beyond Good and Evil to the Wii.

Oh, wow, this is a surprise. I actually got to try an early version of this game and thought it looked very promising - I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more about this. I'm stoked to see Klaus Lyngeled is still helming the project, too! The way I understood it this was very much his brainchild, so I'm really happy on his behalf that it seems the game will finally see completion.

They need to bring Nightcaster to Wii...would be perfect.

The phrase "They need to bring ________ to Wii...would be perfect" should be stricken from the human language.
Of all the games that have been attempted, especially using that phrase, only one has worked (RE4) and that was more sprung on us than requested. Every other attempt had broken something along the way.
Here is a novel idea, one which should start being the mantra. Design a game for the Wii. With it's core design as the central focus of the console. Stop trying to shove games onto the Wii with "shake = attack" mentality.

Even though I enjoy my Wii (Heh, horrendous innuendo that isn't funny), I have to agree with Sir Fid. Every time some one goes "Blank-title would be *perfect* on the wii" I absolutely cringe. Especially when theres no other reasoning than "It'd be perfect on the console, trust me".

My experience with the game and the Wii would make it a good game on the Wii...reasoning enough. Obviously that's just me, i don't recall plenty good reviews for the game so i'm just dreaming on the title making a come back.

The screenshot oozes with style, almost as if Earthworm Jim and Tonic Trouble had child. And I rather like the basic bits of plot line, and even more its a platformer.
I, for one, am quite excited over this. If it turns out to be extremely mediocre or worse, I will be deeply saddened.

An original game on the Wii that potentially doesn't suck? Sign me up.

Ya know, with all this shovelware the Wii is receiving, I was thinking, if the console were D&D players, what do you think the Wii would be, a Cleric or a Necromancer??? bouth can raise the death, but one can command them and the other, well, practically becomes their Band-Aid kit instantly (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0006.html).
I'd say Wii is a Necromancer (yes, a Necromancer in white, I have had some of those with a trully D&D Master Maniak), he can raise the death, but he doesn't need them much to shine, xD

Looks promising! It's good to see silly platformer like these again. You see, all you see this new generation is realistic graphics and mud palettes. So welcome KOre, de Blob and any other platformer that shows promise like these ones... Hey! It may be another platformer, but those are better than the shovelware minigame stuff the Wii is getting.

revitalizing projects is rarely a good thing. Not because of a lack of talent...there are plenty of talented people that lose their jobs in this industry. But because they lost their jobs. Nobody works there anymore other than maybe one or two chief owners and investors.
Imagine losing your job semi-abruptly in 2004 while in the middle of a project. You thought you were on a role...then BAM no money. Go home and don't come back. Then 4 years later getting a call saying "hey, we got our company back...want to return?" What would your answer be? 90% of the time it's "no thanks, fool me once...blah blah blah"
Then there's the resurrected projects that are revitalized by another company completely. All media is hard to reinterpret mid-stream. There's a flow and a mentallity involved that so you just can't jump in and get wet. It's like asking someone to finish up your essay or drawing. And games make essays and drawings seem as simple as brushing your teeth.
The project seems cool (should have come out a long time ago), and hopefully all they need to do is a few touch ups and port the thing to wii, but my intuition says otherwise.

I worked briefly on this game doing some scripting and level design while the game was made at This Side Up, which was pretty much UDS after their fall.
It's great to see Klaus vision come out to the players! :D
