Behold: Kristin Kreuk as Chun-Li
67
Capcom's community blog has posted the above photo of Kristin Kreuk in brawler-to-film adaptation, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Though we don't get to see the high-kicking agent's leg-end, we're told Kreuk "is Chun Li assuredly in this sexy photo." We don't disagree, but it's not Chun-Li until we see some freakishly huge hands. Feel free to, uh, pore over the terrifyingly large and detailed version of the photo if you want.

Well she looks like a different character to Lana. That's more than I was expecting.

She should also be made of pixels and have a terrifyingly large thumb.
Believe it or not, this is Hollywood. Anything goes.

So how many of you are going to see this at the movies when it comes out? I'm in the hell no category...

If you compare the picture of Chun Li with the huge hands, these two's faces look a lot alike. The more recent art for some of the characters makes them racially ambigouous.

I think she looks fine for the role. I'd personally much prefer someone that can act and looks slightly different from the original character than a doppelganger that can't act for shit.

But the problem is, not only does she NOT look the role, the girl is a fairly poor actress. So, it's a lose-lose situation.
Cute as a button, but not fit for the role in my opinion.

Kirsten Kreuk alwaus looks like Kirsten Kreuk. She's a bit like Claire Forlani... cute, but can't act her way out of a paper bag, and always seems to be the same no matter what the character is supposed to be...

1) Kristin Kreuk is half-Chinese, half-Dutch.
2) Lana Lang is white in the comic books, but you didn't see anyone complain when Kristin was cast as Lana. Nor did anyone complain when Devon Aoki (hapa) was cast as Kasumi (Japanese) in DOA, or Dean Cain (1/4 Japanese) as the traditionally white-looking Superman, etc. Likewise, when there's a half-Chinese character like Dr. No, no one complains when a white guy plays the part.
3) Chun Li doesn't look particularly Chinese in the video games, anyway.
4) While we're at it, what's up with casting Gabriel Gray as Spock? Spock's only supposed to be HALF-human. Couldn't they find a real half-human, half-Vulcan actor?

Kristin could pass as white.
Who actually WATCHED the DOA movie?
Dean Cain could pass as white (and nerdy).
There is no aspect of Kristin Kreuk that resembles Chun Li. At all. It's like picking The Rock to play Balrog.

The only street fighting movies this world needs are Death Wish movies. "uhh...I wish i were dead.'
Now that I mention it, almost all street fighter media contains little to no street fighting other than the games themselves. Seriously, i'd rather watch someone play the game for 90 minutes than watch this anorexic chick with average sized hands try to do karate.

I looked at the super high res, and was expecting a total mess. I think it shows that she really is beautiful(IMO of course), and that it's not all makeup. Yes, there are imperfections on her skin, and I can see some of her nosehairs, but whats amazing is she still look hot, and mostly like the girl I know from TV. I cannot say the same for a large portion of the supposed "hot" female actresses/stars out there. A good example I think would be fergie, without makeup she is a beast.
Some people are just naturally beautiful (me not being one of them) and to me this high res photo puts KK in those ranks.
