Hideo Kojima signing MGS4 at Virgin MegaStore in Times Square June 11

NeoGAF poster Ephemeris snapped the photo above showing that Metal Gear Solid 4 auteur Hideo Kojima will be at the Virgin MegaStore in Times Square NYC on June 11, signing copies of the game for a midnight launch. We contacted the Virgin MegaStore's games department this morning just to confirm. The conversation went like this:

"Hi, I just wanted to confirm Hideo Kojima would be signing copies of Metal Gear Solid 4 at the store on June 11?"

"Who?" The clerk sounded half-asleep.

"Hi-de-o Ko-ji-ma, Metal Gear Solid 4, in store June 11?"

"Um, yeah, we're doin' that. Sure."

We're just curious to see if Kojima does a mega-signing in Japan for the opening there and then bends time backwards (by crossing the date line) to get to New York. That would be hardcore.

New York always gets stuff like this:( I have an uncle that's pretty high up at an airline so I might go since I could fly for free...They need to start doing things like this in Los Angeles or something.

I don't give a shit if it's Kojima, Miyamoto, or CliffyB, the concept of flying somewhere just to have them sign a game is really sad to me. The same goes for artists and musicians - if someone I respect happens to be in town, then sure, I'll take the time to see them - but to actually take time off work and get on an airplane to see them... WTF?

You already show your support by buying their stuff. Do you really need to actually worship them?

This whole me not having a PS3 to finish my all-time favorite franchise is really starting to hurt. And now he's coming to my doorstep just to rub it in my face. Son of a bitch. Good, I Live In Queens. So I'll Just wear a shirt with the Xbox 360 Logo, lineup In front Of all the PS3 FanBoys, and When I see the Man himself. As for the PS3 version of the MGS4, I'd wipe my ass with it and award it to a Homeless Bum in the streets, and lecture the human being with the History of the famous man who signed the copy of perhaps a very good game on a POS console.

Learn about tech specs before opening your mouth while you are waiting for your RROD to ship back to you 30 days later(if you are lucky)from Microsoft. Also, try owning both consoles like me(Halo edition 360 pre-order,launch PS3) before talking what u know nothing about. Some PPL(not all)just hate because they are broke. A real gamer gives all consoles props, it is a game.360, ps3, Wii, are "all" cool. They are video games whats not to like? Oh wait, there is the RROD....just like the HD-DVD fans, we'll see how many PS3 haters there are in a few years...You can't put a 9 processor open source 1080p blu-ray beast against, 360. This is why I laugh when people get a hard-on over getting video games autographed by creators. These people aren't "celebrities" and they sure as hell are not athletes. Not sure why one geek would want the autograph of another geek in higher standing. Same thing goes for comic books.

You get excited over someone if you're a fan of their work. Simple as that. Doesn't have to be "OMG HE MAKES GAMES FUCK HIM!"

Try making a game and compare it to his, and let everyone say wether or not yours looks like a turd compared to his. If you feel that way, then a "gamer" site is not for you, we like games and give the creators props so we can get more awesome games. He is passionate about the games he makes and it shows. When you accomplish half of his accomplishments then talk smack. At the end of the day, they will have a dope game with an autograph increasing the value of the disc and you will have your pecker in your hands.

whats the face value of these things? there's a signing in London next week which I'm being dragged to go along to, and as someone who's unemployed and not a big gamer, I could do with the money - but does anyone think it's worthwhile to spend a day?

Hey guys go to multiplayer.mtv.com you will see the first people in line for the signing of the new metal gear solid 4 thats my sister with the glasses. My husband is #3 SINIStER not pictured (he had to work) but they the lucky ones My sis and junior will be recieving a special gift from Hideo Kojima himself sick I'm telling you this is one for the history Books people!!!
