PlayStation Blog shows off PixelJunk Eden
Update: Apparently some readers had the video auto-playing and nobody likes that. We've now placed it after the break.
The PlayStation Blog has put together a reallygood great video that clears up a lot of confusion about what the gameplay in PixelJunk Eden, which should be released this summer, is actually going to be like. PS Blog's Jeff Rubinstein starts off by speaking with producers Deb Mars and Matt Morton a little bit about the game (and they give tiny canned presentations), but then it gets good with the walkthrough of the title.
The gameplay walkthrough actually kicks off about 1:30 into the relatively unedited video and it definitely gets us excited for the PSN game. We certainly hope to see more videos from Sony in the future that take this casual approach to presentation and demonstration on the site.

It looks very, very beautiful.
Though the woman shouting "I'm seeding, guys!" is slightly worrying. I thought I'd stepped into an IVF clinic.

ARGGGGHHHHHH!!!! AUTOPLAY...MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!
lantus @ May 23rd 2008 8:38PM
That looked freaking awesome, way more interesting than majority of Live Arcade games.

Can we say "Fanboy Bias"? I knew that you could.
Benny @ May 24th 2008 10:00AM
It does though, Jonah. And that's from a 360 owner.

Autoplaying videos for the loss.
Seriously, Joystiq, this and that ad that takes us away from the page - I'm going to have to wait til this Pixel*JUNK* video is no longer on the main page before I return to Joystiq.

I'm not one to bitch about things like this, but it IS pretty annoying. And that hummingbird ad would be less annoying if it wasn't so broken.

Humming Bird - $700.00
Console failure not named RROD - $100.00
Seeing Knight Marquise chase his own tail - Priceless
John McPoop (PSN:johnnynumber5) @ May 23rd 2008 11:33PM
Looks awesome!
PSN continues to have a set of unique innovative experiences ... Gotta love this, Echnochrome, Flow, Calling All Cars, Pain, High Velocity Bowling and Pixel Junk Monsters as some of the top downloadable titles on any platform ... Not to mention there are a ton of fun games for the PSeye *Cough* Live Vision cam *cough* ...
Knight Marquise @ May 24th 2008 11:07AM
I wouldn't have a single issue if you would have ended your comment with "in my opinion". That's all it is John...oh, and if you took the time to pull Sony's sausage outta your mouth, perhaps you would quit coughing. Just saying....
droopy @ May 24th 2008 3:45PM
Why should he have to say "in my opinion"? What else could he possibly express?
Lekko @ May 24th 2008 3:39AM
Bionic Gardner Commando.
John McPoop (PSN:johnnynumber5) @ May 24th 2008 5:31PM
Its Ok droopy,
He has a man crush on me and he expresses that by trying to make fun of what I say ... Like the grade school bully ... He just lacks the people skills to express himself like the rest of us so he just throws out insults for attention ...
@Knight Marquise
Are you blushing?
Knight Marquise @ May 25th 2008 12:13PM
"Man-crush"? Make fun of what you say?
If you can construe anything from my comments it should be the pure envy in my words at Sony's advertising & name strength. Hell, I wish I had the kind of rabid customer support Sony does while pushing out one PR nightmare after the other. My business would be even bigger then it is today.
Oh...and John, the RROD comments have zero meaning for me. I have purchased 7 360's, including a launch console, 5 of which reside in varous rooms in my home, and 2 are with my adult kids in their homes. No hardware failures. I'm one of those people who truly does have a hard time believing anyone goes through 876,534 360's in 6 months, when I've yet to have a single console fail. Do I believe MS =had= a hardware problem? Of course, but it was no where near the percentage the fanboys on the intertubes would have everyone believe.
But don't worry...when Sony releases something on the PS3 that interests me I'll pick it up. There will be at least 2, likely 3 PS3's purchased when Final Fantasy finally drops considering my daugher and one of my adult sons, as well as myself, consider that game a must have.
KiraXD @ May 27th 2008 2:26AM
so multiplayer... what about co-op over PSN?
