So if the licensing is different, any chance at all of seeing this as DLC in Europe? I would probably download a few of the tracks, but swapping discs out is so last gen.

This is going to sound a bit dim, but I'm amazed I recognize or have heard the majority of those tracks. :0

At least they give us the pic of the wacky broad instead of the one of the supreme douchelord (always used by their, ahem, competitor site).

I have no idea. But judging from the pictures...does every copy of Singstar come with a pair of dorky oversized shades?

I find that the singstart covers stand out alot. If i see it on a shelf in a year ill know what its about. Its memorable and recognizable and catches ur attention cuz theres a douchebag on the cover, this cover is better cuz chicks can't be douches.

Well you have a point there, covers like this one here are hard to ignore but I doubt anybody will buy a game advertised by people having seizures.

Because most people who are willing to butcher a song and then post a video of themselves butchering said song for the world to see DO have issues.

We have Madden; they have SingStar. I'm honestly glad we have Madden.

We still get Madden. It's just that we don't care about your 'sport' preferring instead to get drunk on alcopops and make ourselves look like twats in public.

Gamestop has 10/21/2008 as the release date for the US, I think. This track list isn't that great though. Needs Warren G.

So what they are saying is that some music cannot be DLC due to the owners of the rights. Forcing Sony to have to create disc releases alongside DLC? I hate the music industry sometimes.

That's a better songlist than what came out this week on the US release! "Common People" better be downloadable, you fuckers!

I wonder if we'll be able to buy it without the microphones when it eventually comes here...

Do all of the songs in all of the versions play the musiv video while the song plays? I was looking at picking up the 80s one and found a review (http://www.expotv.com/SingStar-80s-Stand-Alone/39-188n) and in the footage they show it plays the music video for the song. Some of the videos suck esp since theyre from the 80s...do they all have the videos?

Crap - I hope they don't freaking force disc swapping to get to some songs int he library - that is just idiotic. Hopefully even the "disc" content can be installed to a drive and played with just the original disc in there.

I am just buying a PS3 and getting Singstar straight away. On version # 1, there is about 3 songs I want, because that disc sucked, and was only good for accessing the Singstore in my opinion.

I will therefore be buying version # 2, most of which is quality, but I really hope they are not trying to screw us by repeatedly bringing out new discs, because i'm thinking there might be version # 3 coming at some point as part of the money-grab.

Otherwise, we are going back to the old ways of buying discs with 40 tracks, 10 of which you really want, 10 which are passable, and 20 which you never sing and really suck.

Sony, get your bloody act together and stop making up new discs, and start filling up the Singstore - 277 tracks available as from this week is a poor effort given how long the first version has been out for !
