These albums suck. If they put up some Acid Bath/Mr Bungle/Tool albums I'll gladly give them my money.
Dr. @ May 26th 2008 11:45AM
Tool indeed.
Knight Marquise @ May 26th 2008 11:57AM
LMFAO!
You like Acid Bath, yet claim these bands suck???
You definately got your moneys worth on those mushrooms pal.
Dax @ May 26th 2008 1:06PM
ACID BATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
aphoushole @ May 26th 2008 1:21PM
Mr.Bungle would be insane to play but I think it would be unlikely they put them in.
A band that I'm hoping for, that I think has a good chance is Primus.
Raikage (LDF CRAB BATTLE!!!) @ May 26th 2008 2:20PM
I'm not a Tool fan what so ever... but I saw a friend play a few Tool songs on a REAL guitar, pretty awesome, and difficult... even on GH/RB it would be hard, all those random pauses and stuff.
That reminds me of a story kids... My local radio station has a nightly "cage match" between two songs and you call in with your vote right.
Well about once a week you get the stereotypical Tool zombie that votes for them even though they are not either of the two songs, thus riling up the rest of the Tool zombies calling in for Tool and pissing off the DJ...... Good stuff.
Ridgecity @ May 26th 2008 3:02PM
what year is it? 1995?
Mr.ESC @ May 26th 2008 4:03PM
I wish it was 1995 again.
Sinnix @ May 26th 2008 11:40AM
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! JEBUS!!! Why did they put that scary monster picture on their album cover!!! **jibblies!!**
Watership @ May 26th 2008 11:54AM
A fantastic album. "Just what I needed" is one of my favourite songs. Can't wait to play it tomorrow.
JayDiggler @ May 26th 2008 11:57AM
Wow this album has a lot of hits on it, I think I'm going to get it.....plus finally I know what song is the one that is played during the Phoebe Cates scene in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (moving in stereo).
Joeshie @ May 26th 2008 12:10PM
How about some good bands Harmonix?
Kaemon @ May 26th 2008 12:11PM
How about some intelligence Joeshie?
FSK405K @ May 26th 2008 12:18PM
Yawn. As much as 70s music beats the hell out of today's, why couldn't it be Pink Floyd or something?
CGamble20 @ May 26th 2008 3:09PM
Pink Floyd is the most overrated band in History.
Shagittarius @ May 26th 2008 7:42PM
The Panthers are the most overrated football team ever.
CGamble20 @ May 27th 2008 12:44AM
OH DICK MOVE
Sora267 @ May 26th 2008 12:20PM
Yawn. Weren't they supposed to release Nevermind by Nirvana? Now THAT'S a good album.
Benjamin Breeg @ May 26th 2008 12:26PM
I think it's pretty obvious Metallica's Master of Puppets album will eventually be available for download. All the Metallica songs available so far are from Ride the Lightning, And Justice For All, and the Black Album, and seeing as how Master of Puppets is one of the most revered metal albums, it's almost guaranteed to be on Rock Band eventually.
I hope they get a Maiden album in there eventually. Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere Back in Time, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, and their latest 3 albums would all kick ass and be great for the game (as would Number of the Beast, but they've already released two songs from that album).
Kizzle @ May 26th 2008 1:25PM
Your logic makes no sense. Puppets is an album they have NO DLC for, if anything, that is the least likely to show up (well, besides Kill 'Em All). Having stuff from Ride, Justice, and S/T shows they may have gotten their hands on the masters for those albums.
tmacairjordan87 @ May 26th 2008 3:16PM
Harmonix has the ability to put any Metallica song/album they want on Rock Band. It's part of the deal they signed with Metallica a while back.
Benjamin Breeg @ May 26th 2008 9:40PM
Haha, so much for Kizzle's arguement.
Seriously, Master of Puppets is probably the most requested Metallica album, why would it be the least likely?
Xeno @ May 31st 2008 9:44AM
Doolittle is going to be the next album and it's going to be fantastic.
bounchfx @ May 26th 2008 1:45PM
I'm all for more metal and super difficult songs, but this album is awesome, and I hadn't heard it before hmx announced it. Totally buying all the songs this week.
I'm a little disappointed in the fact that they sound a bit easy, but I think they are still worth owning for sure.
I definitely wouldn't complain if we got some Blood Mountain or Master of Puppets though ;) (or I am Hollywood... ;))
ill trooper @ May 26th 2008 1:50PM
I hate to look right into the face of Awesome and say "I wish some songs from Candy-O were available too," but I guess I just did.
Jeff @ May 26th 2008 2:16PM
living end, thermals, offspring,
oh. Arnt we just naming things we want.
Ridgecity @ May 26th 2008 3:04PM
how about some Rolling Stones? or Van Halen? or how about rock? is the game called rock band or 80's band?
Matt @ May 26th 2008 4:10PM
They've been advertising this for a week on the dashboard. And it's not even out yet. Do they usually do that?
theboy @ May 26th 2008 4:28PM
I can't believe all the negativity aimed at this album. The Cars are ridiculously awesome, and this album is one of the definitive releases of late 70's rock (release was '78, not in the 80's, but I don't expect many of you to know that or even bother to check)
bounchfx @ May 26th 2008 4:41PM
yeah man, I agree. I don't get it.
the only thing I can imagine is that these people haven't heard the album and are bashing it because it's not exactly what they want or have heard a song and decided it's bad based on the first listen.
an awful lot of you sure hate good music, as evident week after week
Clutch_beast @ May 26th 2008 5:36PM
Don't get me wrong, overall it's a great album, but in many ways I can't help but feel that the acoustic abomination that is "I'm in touch with your world" verges on overshadowing the quality of the rest of their work. There are only four songs on this album I am genuinely enthused about playing.
While I am very optimistic generally about this release, I can empathize with those who want to see other content for rock band simply because I buy Rock Band DLC not because of the cultural impact of the music, but because it would be fun and challenging to play. That challenge and excitement just isn't something The Cars are known for.
Ridgecity @ May 26th 2008 7:01PM
late 70's rock? this one? it really doesn't matter what year it was released, since they are an 80's band.
When I hear late 70's rock I think of Santana, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, AC/DC... not The Cars, they are nice, but I wouldn't release this for Rock Band, maybe for Keyboard Hero would be tons better...
whosmav @ May 26th 2008 7:07PM
The Cars friggin rawk.
Guess if I want the real RockBand experience I'll have to get PS360. This no DLC on the Wii crap has got to be stopped.
serotoninzero @ May 26th 2008 7:47PM
Well, food for thought on that one.. each song takes up about 40mb. 512MB isnt going to last long. Wii needs a harddrive option fast.
RavenPaul @ May 26th 2008 7:57PM
No Cars for me. More Metallica and Nirvana. I like to play guitar & sing with the mic a little low like Hetfield does.
ZeroCorpse @ May 26th 2008 11:28PM
And so now we know that a large number of Joystiq readers are kids who wouldn't know good music if it kicked them in the balls.
Anthony33 @ May 27th 2008 9:41AM
What the cars? I wanted (insert name of god awful band here).
Attackosaur @ May 27th 2008 1:47PM
As long as everybody's complaining and making requests I might as well chip in:
a) Who are The Cars?
and
b) How about some Joy Division or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club?
CM @ May 27th 2008 2:25PM
"Who's Next" ... I see what you did there...
Joseph @ May 27th 2008 6:18PM
I understand Harmonix wants to cater to the older generations and the indie crowd, but for fucks sake, could we please get some releases from the past few years? Everything that they're releasing now is like, "Wow, this will be a great song! *1 play later* I realize why I don't listen to this song anymore."
randomshagz @ May 28th 2008 10:10AM
Boo... No Drive?
CaptCaveman @ May 29th 2008 9:14AM
I have some of these songs on my MP3 player right now. They are classics. Plain and simple.
If you don't like it. Don't buy it.
Now get off my lawn!
