WOW!!! That is pretty awesome! I'm in the process of building a MAME cabinet (have been for some time now) and that is excellent news. I hope it doesn't need a crazy-ass video card to play. I've got a spare 6800GT lying around that i'm planning to put in my machine.

Street Fighter on a 360 controller... eww.

Also, as long as you can map buttons, you can map a controller.

There's always the X-Arcade controllers, too, if you're that serious about fighting games. I would also love to see all the SF games come to steam, with online support and such. And while they're at it, they should adopt their User interface, with the matchmaking capabilities and community stuff, too.

Chances are, they won't go that route, and end up doing some shoddy console port with crappy menus and limited options like they've been doing with their ports for the past 10 years. I stopped buying capcom games after RE, RE2 and SFA on the PC we're poopoo. Well, RE2 wasn't that bad, but the other two were. I hope i'm proven wrong.

As for the 360 controller, i can pull off moves better with a keyboard most of the time.

Thats why I modded mine to work properly. In its normal state the 360 dpad isn't so hot.
It's not quite as good as the Classic Controllers dpad but it'll do.

I'll give you this; I think the D-pad, and ONLY the D-pad, on the Wii is best suited for fighters. However, the PS3 D-pad is a perfectly fine d-pad for fighters. I'll definitely be buying this for PS3.

If the news of a PC version gets confirmed, I will spend three solid hours humping the air. Three hours. For seriously.

As it is just a rumour, I am in a quantum state of humping/not humping. I dare not look down for fear of collapsing the waveform and proving my wildest dreams a fantasy.

I really don't want to be negative but nothing about this game has made me excited for it. From the ridiculous way the characters look to the art style.

Maybe the storyline (if there is one) will change things but I doubt it.

In a good way or bad way?

Normally I wouldn't care but I'm curious as to your thoughts on the game as well.

For some reason I'm getting the feeling that everyone approves of the game and is all ecstatic for it...but ONLY because its SF IV. On the brand and history behind the series.

Other than Chun Li's massive thighs and inhuman hands plus Ryu's huge potruding wand...I see nothing spectacular or worth mentioning regarding the game.

Soul Calibur may have jumped the shark with the addition of Yoda and Darth Vader but at least we've see some nice footag4e regarding gameplay (which looks tight to me) as well as significantly improved graphics and what seems to be an epic story in the making.

The only reason why I don't see myself buying this game is for the same reason why I dislike most fighting games. I’m not good at them, like GH in expert mode you need to press colorful buttons like an effing Chimpanzee to win and I like to know what the hell I’m doing which is a good way to lose in most fighting games. Also that most fighting games have this brilliant idea which consist of not including an effing move set so people will be forced to be buy the official guide, too bad people rather look on the internet.

This game could go either way for me. While I love 2D fighters, I get the feeling this ISN'T Street Fighter IV but rather Street Fighter II 3D. Unlike SF spinoffs ad enhancements of the past, this doesn't look to majorly overhaul the fighting engine. In fact, considering several standard (non special attack) combos are working just as they did in II has me worried. I know this makes me a bit of a hypocrit considering I enjoy the KOF series but that series has been annual evolution forever whereas Street Fighters numbered offspring HAVE been drastic changes.

Mr. Esc, it's been a standard in fighting games to have a move list in the start menu since... well, Playstation.

I really hope this game will be good, but similar to what ppl above me have said, just doesn’t suit my taste. Dunno why, I do hope it comes out on Wii though as the graphics don’t look that intense anyways.

Tekken 6 looks crazy though !

In a good way, you said it might depend on the story and I thought it was funny because all fighting games have the same story. =) I assumed you were joking, either way though it gave me a laugh.

I'm probably the only one who likes this art style.I think is good expect for Chun Li's manly hands and Cammy crotch muscles but I think the anime rules apply to this game as well.

"There are no women in anime just extremly girly men".

I'm looking at you Dan.

I love the art style. Especially when you see it in motion. But I'm not the biggest fan of this being a 3D remake of SFII which is what it's shaping up as.

I was never a big fan of SFII. I jumped in at Alpha. Loved III. But never felt anything for SFII.

You know the problem with getting the cheapest current gen game on the market is that it IS the cheapest current gen system on the market. aka, unable to do this shit. And besides, you own a Wii, take a look at the remote lately? "It's got a punch button... and a kick button... and a plug so I can add a REAL controller to it."

It would be foolish for Capcom to attempt a port which requires the classic controller.

Capcom reps have gone on record saying they'd like to get this to as many platforms as possible. Including PS2 (because it's still alive and kicking), PSP (it holds its own pretty well), Wii, and DS (the latter two just print money).

Of course, none of those would be up to the same level of graphic detail as the AC/PC/360/PS3 version would be (the DS version would be what Street Fighter 64 would've been lolz), but you'd still be getting the core gameplay mechanics. And that's what counts, right?

I find it hard to see where this game is pushing the graphical envelope. The guys up there in the screenshot don't look like they're rendered much better than Captain Falcon was in Super Smash Bros Melee

And sure, they would have to build a Wiimote-only mode, but that doesn't mean anyone would have to use it. Never seen anyone who did for Brawl or Radiant Dawn

It's hard to say this without sounding like a Wii apologist, but seriously, look at the screenshot. Where's the beef?

Cool, cant wait to get my hands on this. Getting on 360 baby! Fighting games making a slight come back this year, sweet! Tekken 6, Soul Calibur 4, SF4, MK vs DC and hopefully we get an update on DOA5 by the end of this year since NG2 will be outta the way already.

Just wish the KI3 rumors would be true :)

the fact that it doesn't come with the original console and that you have to pay extra for it automatically makes it the NON default controller....

Besides, for a few bucks more, you can just get a fighting stick which is far more advance and would work much better than the classic controller for this game...

Well the PC version isn't actually that surprising, seeing as the Taito Type-X² is a PC (the specs are on Wikipedia if you're curious), so there would be very little porting work to do. Plus Capcom is part of the PCGA and has been porting their games to PC for a while now. Anyway this is great news, but I'm still not convinced about the game itself...
