VC Monday Madness: WiiWare and VC team up yet again

Now, this is something we can get used to. Both WiiWare titles and Virtual Console titles releasing together, side-by-side? Totally awesome, if you ask us. And, on top of it, both of Nintendo's services are hooking us all up with some solid downloads today. With it being a holiday and all, we're glad Nintendo is providing us with some stuff to do during our downtime.

Virtual Console games available for download this week:

City Connection (NES, 1 - 2 players, 500 Wii Points)
Metal Slug (NEOGEO, 1 - 2 players, 900 Wii Points)

WiiWare games available for download this week:

Dr. Mario Online Rx (1 - 4 players, 1,000 Wii Points)
Family Table Tennis (1 - 2 players, 500 Wii Points)

This is a good amount of games. I hope we continue to get 2 VC games & 2 WiiWare games for a while.

Dr. Mario sucked me in. Even though I suck at it.
Online is only Medium...I need to train.

Color me confused but when should these new titles be available today? As I recall I could snag My Life as the King early morning the day of the release but now when ever I check in with the store it's still listing the 19th as the latest release update.

Isn't noon Eastern time the norm?

Is anyone else not seeing today's releases?

I booted up my Wii immediately after reading this article in eager anticipation of downloading City Connection, only to be greeted by May 19 releases. What gives?

The titles will be available after 12pm noon Eastern Time.

Call me naive, but how does everyone always know what the releases are then. Does Nintendo do some kind of press release before the games actually become available?

thats lame. is there any good reason they don't get them out earlier?

They usually release a press release stating the games early Monday morning, several hours before they are actually available.

I'd gt Metal Slug, but I already have the collection for the Wii. Still, we can't for get the many times we died in that game. Hi-yo!

Sweet! I never had the chance to play Metal Slug before, so I many pick it up. I'm definitely getting Dr. Mario, though! Now all NoA needs to do is drop us EarthBound and we'll have the best RPG on the console for a while.

Of course, i never even got around to downloading Lost Winds yet. So much to do, so little time, money, and memory

Well, I was hoping for Toki Tori today as well, the last news I saw seemed to indicate that it would be out today in the US as well. Oh well, guess we continue to wait. Going to get Dr. Mario today - my wife's been waiting for that eagerly. :)
