Gamespot compares 360, PS3 graphics; calls it a tie

Gamespot's been stirring the fanboy stew with their graphics comparison features for a few years now, highlighting the visual differences between major consoles. Now in their third round of 360 vs. PS3, Gamespot has a startling revelation: it's really hard to tell them apart.

Though they ultimately rule that the Xbox 360 still slightly wins out in the overall, the difference is negligible enough that they're willing to call it a tie. The 360 rocks the boat in high-res textures and texture mapping, but the PS3 conquers in shadowing and anti-aliasing (whatever all that means).

Just to stoke the fire again, lemme pull out one of my many comparison pictures I've captured.

Basically what we learn above along with every other screencap comparison is that PS3 has a more washed-out blurry look while the 360 is sharper and more detailed. Take these "facts" as you will, I'm sure I'll be attacked for this. The bottom line is there are great games for all the systems, and it is a nice change of pace to play Ratchet & Clank on the PS3 while private chatting with one of my buddies over Live while he plays the same game, likewise goes for Smash Bros. on the Wii.

1152x640 NO AA on PS2 ~26 fps

1152x640 = 737,280 pixels vs. 921,600 in 1280x720

The Gamespot comparison is ... weak
They didn't compare framerates, pictures are small and LQ, and more important - they played SAFE (advertisers) - pu$$ie$.

You want to read real one and not the one where big site don't want to anger one BIG company that likes to install rootkits?

Are they just calling it a tie for multiplatform games or for exclusives? Because the PS3 exclusives have way better graphics then the 360. I don't think you can show me one 360 game that looks better than GT5P.

360 can do graphics like GT5... the reason why GT5 has those graphics is because is been near 4 years in development... of course it should look good.

But the point is, PS3 should look way better than 360 ones, but the reason why they dont is because is not as powerful as you guys think. Even Kojima said that.

Multiplatform games don't prove anything, that's why I asked which 360 exclusives have better graphics then PS3 exclusives. No one seems to be able to answer that one yet.

Who cares if its Multiplat? It looks better than GT5P AND its on 360. What more do you need? And to make matters worse the 360 version of GRID looks better than the PS3 one dude. Give it up.
