Though things have certainly quieted down on the Home front, work on Sony's (overly?) ambitious project continues. Most recently, the service's beta testers were invited into a new location – the "Media & Events Space." As a test run, Sony recreated their PlayStation Day event from earlier this month, complete with photo galleries and a jumbo screen broadcasting speeches from the event (seen above: Big Brother, aka SCEE's David Reeves). Going forward, both Sony and third-party developers can use the "virtual arena" to host "everything from new game unveilings to sports events to fashion shows." Fashion shows? For the PS3 gaming crowd? We smell killer app.

Home is never going to come out.

Serial. Its like the hydrogen car, its never going to happen.

To be honest I hope it never does, it's like Duke Nukem Forever, you know when it comes out it's gonna disappoint, they may as well not release it and give you something to joke about.

What people don't realize is that it takes time to make something good (Xbox Live) and even more time to make something great (Home).

Home doesn't even sound like something I want anymore, just give me in game xmb, until then I'll just play online on my 360.

The description reminds me of in half life 2 when the dude is spreading propaganda....

I totally forgot about this Home business already. It's just a bunch of empty promises. I'm already over the whole idea of PS Home, the delays are way over my head at this point.

tbh exactly what i was thinking, i would be surprised if it actually does come and isn't delayed to the PS4!!! (and after that the PS5 then the PS6, after which they would be like: OMFG WE'VE FINALLY CRACKED IT!!! and microsoft would be like: OMFG YOU GOT IT.. ten years after we done it that is!)

no fanboyism here.. i only do have a PS3.. but these Home delays are getting ridiculous!!!

I have a ps3 also, and I've lost all interest in home. If it ever comes out, great. If not, whatever.

That actually sounds pretty cool. Hopefully it's not one of those scenarios where it sounds good on paper, but fails horribly when actually used.

I was wondering why the launch of Home has been delayed for at least 12 months now, but then I realized it takes a lot of time and effort to rip out all of the originally promised features.

Yeah, I've got a Sony raincheck somewhere for my True HD and 4th Dimension.

I wanted the boomerang controller to fight with alongside the WiiRemote & Nunchuck. And the original, fatty Xbox controller to use as a flail.

I'm looking forward to home.

I still think they should allow crazy outfits for users. I don't see the fun in running around with an avatar in a t-shirt and jeans. How about running around with Mega Man's helmet and random armor.

That sounds pretty cool. I could imagine there being virtual E3 type events like every month to unveil new titles and demos and stuff. Keep it exclusively on Home and you have a killer app.

It's getting sexier but right now it depends on two very distinct things...

1. How many people will USE it. Basically I intend to use Home to gather a small list of casual _____ players. Nobody who takes it too seriously so they won't act like a chimp on herion if they don't win.

2. How often these features will be used. The events square would be useless if it's only dragged out once every few months. If they make it a constant thing with PRs doing question and answers, debuting trailers, highlighting the best of user content (LBP, GT5P, and Singstar already have these features built in), etc, this could be cool. Otherwise a section like this could quickly become the Home version of Rick Rollin. "Dude, they have Assassin's Cree 2 debuting in the Events center in 15 minutes, meet you there."

I can imagine tons of digital folks gathered up for a press conference. Pretty good idea, just wish it would happen soon so we could go to virtual e3.

Oh yes I'm sure the arrogant sony fanboys around the world will be lining up in Home to watch virtual fashion shows from high tech servers in Milan, Paris, Bejing, New York, London, etc...

Home is just another useless thing thats on the ps3...like FOH. Except you can't even try feebly defend it by saying it does "good works" (despite the fact that FOH hasn't had any SIGNIFICANT results as far as I can tell).

It may or may not be useless, but it's free. I'm a little fed up with spending $50 every year for Live no matter how good it is. Only you, a sony hater could hate on something that costs you nothing.

The Shivering Isles Expansion pack for Oblivion was about 1.5GB...And that that was practically the size of Iceland.

Actually, F@H has had a significant impact. But what do I expect from someone who's username signifies a movement even Reggie and Peter both piss all over, calling it incredibly stupid. Wii60... I hope you realize this is why God laughs at you.

I'm not 100% sure anymore, but somewhere between when Home was announced and today Sony said it would be around a 500 MB download and I think a mandatory one since it would be a system update thing.

Seriously, I vaguely remember hearing about HOME FIFTEEN months ago, and it has yet to see the light of day. Every time we hear news of it, it's a delay, or them adding something new, instead of fixing whatever is wrong with it, that keeps on getting it pushed back...
