Oh man! A game actually rated in a decent spectrum with honest reviews? Blasphemous! Seriously though, I wish more games would be rated like this. Review sites/magazines would be so much better without a goddamn number.

Anyways, I'll pick this up as it looks like a fun game to waste some summer hours away.

Looks good, but disappointing to see the camera still sucks.

Ok so you hate this game because Itagaki is a dick and doesn't like the PS3. Boo Hoo, Ninja Gaiden is still a better series than GOW and DMC, so... maybe you should play it, and like it, and not be all butthurt because the guy who made it doesn't like your console.


I do hope it's as hard as the first one... but doesn't look that promising...

NG 1.5???? its a sequel no? I'd call it a 2.0 or w.e.... a 1.5 would be considered (if anything) Black.. no? Otherwise i'm lost on how you guys do your math. Hey I have the game reserved and this is the only game for a long time that I'm looking forward to. I cant wait.

Wow, you trolls never cease to amaze me. You're ranting on about a game that's not even out yet. Are you all mindless zombies? At least when I was growing up I actually played games to determine if I liked them or not.

I've lost all respect for reviewers in the last few years (but then I'm an old school gamer) since my 2 favorite games in the last year were Lost Odyssey and Burnout Paradise, both of which got poor reviews.

As for Ninja Gaiden 2, I'll judge it when I play it but I'm not excited due to the fact that the NG games are so ridiculously difficult that no-one except the most hard core gamer can beat it.

Sorry Raikage, but NG isn't better, its just different (in a good way that is)

I love the 3 of them (actually DMC the most), and look, there have been huge improvements between installments, as seen in DMC1 and DMC3 (Im sorry, but no, DMC2 doesn't exist!) and GoW1 and 2, but for NG2 all that seems to have been improved is the combat system, leaving pretty much the camera as is...and you know how important the camera is in this kind of games right?

That problem COULD have been overlooked, but the thing is that Itagaki has been hyping NG2 to the point in which it should have been perfect

and about el serpiente's point of view on it, dude, if you have played NG you should know that it isn't for everyone (just like the other 2, actually, GoW is the most accessible one), so one can understand why he might not like it (but Im pretty sure it has to do with Itagaki's opinion towards Sony)

It looks like this is another case of Twilight Princess Syndrome. It's predecessor introduced so many new elements that fans are disappointed with the sequel when there aren't any surprising new features to get fans excited. It is a solid game but there was room for some new ideas instead of just "more of the same but better".

Yeah Noshino, I'm pretty much a NG fanboy... but I do understand why some people don't like it (mostly they are not insane like me) but el didn't even give a decent reason, sure there isn't a lot of story, but it's far from a mindless hackn'slash.

Also, who plays games like these for the story anyway, seriously?

Tyler believes that this may also be reviewers overracting a bit. "Whoops, we just gave a game with a crappy save system, NO checkpoint system, crappy driving controls, and "passable" targeting/combat system a 10/10 and declared it the best game of all time. Mayhaps we should settle down and rate a few kickass games a little low to make people forget." But really, GTA 4 is fun, dont get me wrong, but its not "teh uber pwnage." its a 8/10 in my book. If you actually read the reviews of NG2 and NG1, they basically have the same issues. NG1 had slowdown during ninpo techinquies, and the camera one 1 (not black/sigma) was actually worse. Yet it had higher scores. TBH I dont think its actually possible to get a better camera for a game like NG2 than blacks set up. Reviewers just want people to think they actually critique games instead of grading on hype. Dont worry, this will pass. Gears of War 2 will be nearly identical to GoW1, and will score 95's. (And yes, I like GoW too.)

Oh, and grading a game low cause "its too hard for me" its just weak...

Reasons I'm not a NG fanboy:

As good as the game is Itagaki is a MAJOR asshole. My problem with him is he never can give anyone else any kind of respect. A perfect example is his top 5 most hated games of all time.

He gives no reason for hating the game so it seems more like him lashing out at a game thats better than his softcore porn fighter DoA.

Its much the same with DMC he gives the series all the grief in the world about it being more flash than substance and then his game comes out and its basically the same thing.

Plus just look at him and listen to the way he talks he constantly thinks hes making the best thing ever. Which is kinda admirable in a sick way.

Itagaki is pretty much my most hated Developer my most liked being David Jaffe.

I also am not a fan of GoW I just really like Kratos.

...If he hates the PS3, that's his problem. And never mind the fact of the whole sexual harassment case nearly a year ago. Also, throw out the fact that DOA will never reach the Smithsonian-status that VIRTUA FIGHTER made; because anyone could make a "TEKKEN-with-Bigger-Breasted-Women" 3D fighting game and shovelware that on people. It's $60+ softcore people have bought and he's laughing all the way to the bank over it with that hook.

Lastly, there's *still* no excuse for effin' up the NG series; which could be blamed on the fact that he tried to carbon copy Yoshiaki Inose's NES formula for the series with a more frantic DMC style. The fact that the industry and mislead gamers put this man on a pedestal proves that anyone could be inserted in his shoes and do what he does. GameInformer has recently been running articles swapping out industry professionals with other notables. I'd love to see what would be done(better)without Itagaki.

Sounds good to me. Besides, the camera was a little screwed up in the first one too- you just had to deal with it. It didn't bother me too much after a couple levels.

But it makes sense that the reviewers get annoyed that they didn't fix it the second time around. My only question to them, I guess, would be about all the bitching about how hard it is, since everyone already knew that it was going to be difficult. That's kind of the point of the game. But, having never played it, I'll pass judgment next week.

Ninja Gaiden Black was so good that frankly, more of the same would be a GOOD thing. But it's not more of the same, it's an improvement on something spectacular. Games do not have to reinvent the genre to be good; if a developer has an unbelievably good game on his hands that fans gush over, he would be best served by not altering the formula too much. As far as I can tell from previews, NG2 is really just focusing on making the game more intense by letting you not worry about health conservation and letting you focus on lots and lots of absurdly difficult enemies.

There's only one way someone can be bored with Ninja Gaiden...

I play my games for the games themselves. I could care less if the guys that made them are egotistical fucks. Hell, think of all the things in life that you buy without ever knowing the people who created them. There's alot of egotistical fucks in this world, so in my opinion that's a lot of shit that you wouldn't be buying.

My point is, if you are trying not to support something just because you don't like it's creator, then so be it, but that doesn't change the fact that NG is one of the most challenging games out there. Sure, DOA isn't as good as VF, but that's an ENTIRELY different game.

The first NG was amazing game that I personally consider to be THE greatest game every made. I understood the story, and I understood the characters, maybe others didn't and not every game can be a GTA4 in that regard, but the idea that someone out there is still making games that actually have a damn learning curve is very refreshing to me. So I am going to support it for as long I can.
