As the reviews slowly roll in and decisions are made about whether or not to purchase the game, Ninja Gaiden 2's demo has yet to see release to the Marketplace. For some time now, the game's xbox.com page had a message for its readers, telling them to: "Get your hands on the free demo coming to Xbox LIVE Marketplace in May."
While it is true that May isn't over until the end of the week, the xbox.com page no longer has the message promising the demo's arrival, and instead points readers to the Ask a Ninja videos. This could mean a host of things really: the demo has been held up, or it's not coming at all, or it's coming but the page has been changed early. In all honesty we hope for the latter, because after getting our hands on it we can't wait to do it again!

Ninja Gaiden fans don't need a demo, we already know what to expect. The release is right around the corner so I really don't care if there's a demo or not. If there is I won't bother downloading it. I'm buying the game regardless.

I'll agree. For the past YEAR I've been salivating at the thought of a demo. Now, 5 (6? 7? Whatever) days from launch, I couldn't care less.
I honestly don't think this will impact sales anyway. It's not like Ninja Gaiden is an entry-level "Casual" franchise that draws people in that weren't already drawn in. Most of us truly know exactly what to expect, so I'm not sure who a demo would be for at this point (people that can't afford to buy it or rent it I guess. I realize that these people do exist)
I stand by my statement that if there isn't a demo for Ninja Gaiden II by June, then my money is getting spent on Metal Gear Solid 4 instead. MGS4 seems like it might be a brand new experience, and since I've got Sigma and Black, it's not like I'm hard up for Ninja action.
Yes, I know, picking a PS3 game over a 360 game is heresy, but if I don't stand by my liquor fueled statements of disgust at demo release delays, then what good is my word?

Crazy. I have to admit, with just as much crap flooding the market as quality titles, and of course with the cost of everything going up, I really like to have the free playable demos to make a better judgement before buying something.
Kinda sucks if the demo is non-existant, since I haven't exactly been overwhelmed by videos and screenies.

They've been advertising the demo for awhile so it was planned. If you get on your 360 you can find the banner ad for Ninja Gaiden 2 and it has a section for the demo which says coming soon. They shouldn't have said May if they couldn't deliver, but maybe this means the demo will be up soon.

Itagaki already said he shipped it to Microsoft for approval.
but, he was also quoted to have said the demo would arrive June 3rd...

No demo = no buy for me as well. I good demo was what I needed to convince me to get NG2 over MGS4. I guess I'll go ahead and preorder MGS4 and rent NG2 sometime this summer.

At this point, I expect Microsoft to care little about what we want/think (see: lack of Spring Update).

I agree that we don't need a demo because we essentially know what to expect. Although, I would still love to play it without having to buy it just yet. If I kept playing the demo constantly after awhile I'd feel compelled to just go out and buy it.

Wouldn't mind a demo to pass me over but it doesn't matter either way, it's an on the day buy.

Why is it that 95% of good games don't get demos?

I'd like a demo because I was utter shiteballs at NG so I'd be interested to see if the new easy mode is easy enough for my lack of patience.
