During the month of Halloween, you PlayStation 3 owners will finally have the opportunity to wield blunt instruments and bludgeon a pack of masked weirdos. Especially if they're between you and a PS3 copy of BioShock, which has been slated for release in October.
Having wrenched free from its Xbox 360 and Windows exclusivity, the waterlogged dystopia sim hopes to win those Game of the Year awards all over again, especially with the aid of "new features and content that will make this a must-have game for its new audience, as well as for those who enjoyed it on the other platforms." We're not sure what developer 2K Marin plans to add, but we hope it's less upsetting than our idea of SixAxis-powered Little Sister shakin'.

It really isn't short, but it isn't particularly long either. It can be beat in 10 hours, but that's if you ignore all the good stuff. This game begs for exploration; the atmosphere is the best part of the game IMO. If you limit yourself to a weekend rental you're going to miss out on a great experience...

It's short. It's not Heavenly Sword short or Crackdown short, but it's short. Especially since the fun ends at the "bodyguard" level even though the game continues.

I got around 12 hours in I think, that's around the usual length for an FPS though.

I didn't read any of those threads but one's definition of "too short" is pretty different. For example, I found Oblivion too short - simply because I didn't want it to end!
Now if you're worried that BioShock is 5 hours long... don't worry, it'll (probably) take you at least 15 hours on a first playthrough if you explore the environments a bit, making sure to nab all the Little Sisters and grabbing up the VERY intriguing diaries.

I would agree with both Obie and The Sound.
I would love MGS4 to come to the 360 at some point. But I would also really love LBP even though it doesn't look too amazing, I think the XBL community would be great with it.

It's cool to see this game reaching a larger audience, I loved playing through this on my 360. Hopefully Bioshock 2 hits both systems at the same time.

I'm glad there isn't an edit button, then you would have people editing posts when they realized they said something totally wrong. It would ruin epic posts as well. What they need is some sort of system that detects double posts.

It would be nice to have a one-minute grace period for editing. So many times I hit "Add Your Comments" and then realise a silly spelling error.

I think a one minute grace period or until someone replies would be good. Then you would be able to edit spelling errors and such.

I might play this just as long as this doesn't turn out to be a "Lost Planet or Half-Life" port.
And secondly why doesn't 2K Games like the PS3? This is coming out late for the PS3 and Fight Prize (the boxing game) is not scheduled to come out on the PS3. And what happened to LA Noire?

I don't think they specifically said they 'hated' the PS3 (I think 'ole Gabe is the only one who truly said that) I just think that they didn't have enough experience or weren't up to par on their programming for it, and waited until they did.
They have had job listings for PS3 programmers for a year or so now, that may be why.

Yeah I remember reading somewhere that LA Noire was coming to the 360 as well. Which really excited me as it was one game that truly had me feeling a little jealous over PS3 owners.

I don't get why you would think a system sucks, they all have great games out for them. Fanboys are pathetic, they can't afford all 3 systems so they have to attack the ones they don't own to feel good about their purchase. I mean can you honestly say that if you had the extra cash you wouldn't buy the system you hate so much?

LOL that last comment made my day
Typical arrogant sony fanboys...
So how exactly did you reach this grand conclusion that all fanboys can't afford all systems?
Maybe its because the ps3 is garbage to begin with and has no positives other than Bluray that is holding people back from buying it?
You are truly an arrogant asshole. I make plenty of paper. I just don't want nor need to waste the money on the black behomoth of a machine that just happens to play games.
Just like in general gamers come from many different groups both socially and economically. It may be true that some gamers can't afford to buy all of them. But there are a lot who CAN but choose not to.
For me buying a Wii and a 360 is completely 100% satisfying my gaming needs.
The ps3 has nothing and deserves nothing except hate and to be shitted on.
Nice try though.

Yup, I'm a HUGE Sony fanboy...well except for the fact that I own 3 games on my PS3 compared to 15+ for my Wii and 15+ for my 360. Or maybe it's the fact that I only play my PS3 a lot less then my 360? You can't honestly tell me that there isn't a game you want to play that's on a system you don't own.

How did I reach my conclusion? Because you fanboys attack the systems you don't own for no reason at all. Why do you care so much that someone is enjoying MGS4 and you're not? All 3 systems have great games, just because you don't have one of them doesn't mean you have to attack it. So you don't want to play MGS4, LBP, GT5, and whatever else Sony has coming out, good for you, enjoy your other systems. I use to only have a 360 and a Wii, and I enjoyed them both. Then I wanted some of the games on the PS3 so I bought that. You didn't see me pointlessly attacking the PS3 just because I didn't have one.

If I have a PS3 by the time this hits, and the new content is substantial enough, I'd easily buy it again. I love BioShock.

3rd party console exclusives are a son of a bitch for people who just like gaming. It's a great game with outstanding atmosphere. It doesn't really do anything new, as you could probably get through the game just fine regardless of what plasmids you equip and use. It's just a great game that should be played once or twice.
The ps3 owners can now file overhyped Haze into that average or mediocre FPS category that even the 360 has plenty of. With Bioshock and CoD4, Two of the best FPS games out on consoles are multiplatform. Fun for all.

That's good news for PS3 owners. This is an experience they shouldn't miss. It's a hard sell to buy these games twice for multisystem owners though.
