This becomes an automatic "Who gives a fuck." Unless you've lost the disc or haven't played there's no reason for this. It doesn't even have the damn PC stuff. Thus it's worthless.

lucky for me (or not really but, whatever) I had it stolen during a party I held...so this seems to be right up my alley (glad I waited!)

nothing Gears 2 related is worthless. Everything except adding the PC content to the console version is.

That's an interesting release. Maybe for new gamers? I know that a couple of my friends bought Xbox360s at the end of last year, and they each got that gift from me. It's a must play game.

all i can say is thank god they didn't decide to charge full price for this, that would have been a bone head move.
All 6 people that don't already have gears, have at it.

Even for new gamers I think the price tag of 39.99 is too much. This game has definitely sold its share of high volume and is definitely a "Greatest Hit". Since the "extra" maps are free eventually anyway I don't see how that price tag is justified. The game already sold itself head over heels and Cliff is more than rolling in dough. Plus all those extra XBLG subs that were sold because of this game is equaled to a $20 price drop?? I have played this game and I do like it but after over a year this game should be at 29.99 if it's going to be "re-released".

What... no collector's edition??

I *might* actually get this. Although i beat GoW on regular and 3/4 on hardcore... would have liked to finish hardcore and maybe try insane. I just borrowed it from a friend and only played a little multi-player. Might be nice just to have it sitting on my shelf... maybe not though... Gears 2 isn't far away... must ... hold ... out ... from... yet another... money grab....

(But if it had the PC content I'd be 100% buying definitely excited with a quickness)

There are people who are still just buying 360s now. It's hardly useless.

But I certainly don't think it should cost $40.

Well looking at figures, Gears of War 1 sold 4 million and i'm sure that number includes whatever it managed to sell on PC as well. CoD4 and Halo 3, last time i checked have both sold 7 million. So people trying to make funnies about "all 2 360 owners that don't own gears already" are being silly. Theres still plenty of people who do not already own the game, not to mention Gears is still one of the best 360 games to date.

Of course without marketing it more, i honestly doubt this half price version will sell any more but thats just my guess. Would be nice if they could rerun the "emergence day" commercials.
