Valhalla of storytelling?

You realize that the story was mostly on the cutting floor after MS got through with it. They had to dumb it down for 360 gamers to gain mass appeal.

No really, the new year's riots were supposed to be in the game, there were supposed to be 12 main major characters, and a far more epic story than what was there.

It seems like the trend on games lately is to really dumb them down so anyone can play and understand things.

Regardless of plans (which, from what so say sound really great), Bioshock is still touted as having one of gaming's most deep and intricate stories.

They didn't cut down the story to appeal to a larger audience! They cut the story to increase the atmosphere and intensity of a single part of the story. Simple = Powerful.

Nintendo the "lovable uncle", yeah right. So quickly they forget, or rather have the wool pulled over their eyes...

Sorry, don't mean to sound like a troll, I'm a triowner, just my Wii has been impotent since Mario Galaxy (Kart was butchered, DS is the definitive version, Brawl is a mini-game and Wii-Fit is a lot of money when you exercise anyway). I'm not a troll, I swear! I just think the Wii has failed hardened gamers, or anyone with the imagination to realise 95% of games just map a button or an analogue stick to the motion controls (the rest consist of bounding box horrors, Sixaxis possible tilting, and Wii sports, which is actually good).

Back on topic, I returned the 360 version the next day because it had a choice between good framerate and good visual effects, my brain started to implode at such a ridiculous notion for a console (optimise it for the system it's going on, don't be lazy).

I mean, it's like having the option to 1080p out of your Xbox1 if you like stuttering messes.

Will PS3 version be the same you think?

Nintendo took me out for a drive, but when we got onto the main road, he took a sharp turn towards a concrete wall, opened the door and jumped out, leaving me to crash and burn to death.

Thus, only my ghost lives on to haunt Joystiq users forever, mwahahaha!

I also returned it because I realised my rig would play it better... but I was making a point. =P

I descend into rants easily... makes me sound very troll-like!

Don't care how it looks. I'm just looking forward to playing the game. I hear it's good, yeah?

Good story? Check.
Incredible atmosphere? Check.
Mind bending plot-twist? Check.
Sadly, there are also checks next to the questions "lamest final boss ever?" and "pathetically predictable gameplay?"

I brave the fanboy flames to implore any PS3 owner to rent this very good, but nevertheless astoundingly overrated game before purchasing it.

I heard here (http://www.expotv.com/videos/reviews/22/193/BioShock/254874) that the game "doesn't like religion". What the heck does that mean? I'm not religious so it really doesn't matter, just thought that that statement was interesting...
