If you find yourself in the mood to pay to watch G4's gamer-oriented line of television programming, you can now scratch that puzzling itch on the Xbox Live Marketplace, where several of the network's original television programs have been made available for download. These programs include Attack of the Show, snowboard documentary series The Block, and animated comedy series Code Monkeys (which includes a free sneak preview of the show's second season).
Oddly enough, X-Play is not one of the shows featured on Microsoft's service, despite the fact that the daily half-hour Sess-fest is one of the highest rated programs on the network. A shame, too -- we would actually dish out some Microsoft buckz to avoid wading through the countless reruns of Fastlane, Cops, Cheaters, and other "gamer-oriented" programs to watch the oft-renamed program. Alas, we must continue to suffer the seemingly limitless douchebaggery of Joey Greco.

After watching the first season, Code Monkeys is not as bad as everyone claims it is. In fact it's pretty damn entertaining. Sure it's dumb humor, but I dig it.

Isn't Code Monkeys watchable for free on G4's Wii Channel?

Yeah,I should let go of Tech TV. I mean, years of educational technology tv that was actually interesting and fun to watch that was bought up and replaced with such meaningful programming like "guns, fast cars, and babes" from G4. Spike TV is better than G4 and that's saying something.

really? I mean AOTS isn't that bad. But 90% of the stuff on G4 is pure fucking garbage. Even X-play(the once shining beacon in a sea of mediocrity in G4) has now been turned into utter crap.

well i've only seen snippets at people's houses but it'd be worth it just for AOTS for me. I wish i could stream the whole thing online or something.

Does this include Game Makers and earlier Icons episodes? Those two are easily some of my favorite G4 programs.

I'd spend whatever G4 or MS asked if they put up all the episodes of Ninja Warrior. Who knows if they'll ever release it on DVD, and despite knowing the outcome of the tournaments, I can't stop watching.

XPlay and AOTS shouldn't be on XLM since of the every day a new episode deal I mean, that would get really pricey really fast if you wanted to watch the show like that. And this reminds me, they really need to realese a Code Monkeys Season 1 DVD!

My relationship with G4 is odd.
I've known of G4 since almost the start of it, and have been posting on their forums for the past five years. I remember when they were strictly gaming focused, and when they'd show the same latest episode of one of their shows multiple times in a day. It was painful sometimes, and generally made the channel hard to watch. Especially when they did some of their heavier product placement and general advertising (Such as Cheat! Pringles Gamer's Guide). But I loved the idea of the channel, and wanted to support it as I could, even with the flaws it had.
But honestly, once the channel made the changes it did, I found it a lot easier to watch; even though the channel lost all of its focus to become some weird psuedo-Spike TV rip-off. Star Trek (TOS & TNG) are great shows, I don't care what channel it's on or how you spin it. Ninja Warrior is an entertaining show, though I can see why some would like it. I think Code Monkeys is great, and always found myself pleased at the end of an episode (if I ever get around to actually watching one). I even started watching Fastlane because of G4, and I really ended up liking that series (with help of Tiffani Thiessen) even though I didn't go out of my way to watch it.
And that's kind of my problem with G4 is that I generally like quite a few of the shows they air, but not enough to either go out of my way to watch them, or care enough to support the channel like I did in G4's original days.

i miss you leo leporte, fresh gear, tech talk, kevin rose, even judgement day wasn't that bad after the change over. I just dont understand why they couldn't have combined the two channels with the best of. god i miss call for help and screensavers. and i actually like x-play more now that they have semi-up to date news and not 5 month old reviews.
i would even rather watch money machine than cheat though

Xplay, Ninja Warrior, and certain parts of AOTS are the only things on g4 worth watching now. I do miss screensavers, anime unleashed, and cineamatech/cineamatech:nocturnal emissions.

Cinematech/and Nocturnal Emissions still airs in new episodes.
