Prince of Persia's concept 'Elika' is unmistakably Natalie Portman

Take a close look at this concept art for the new Prince of Persia. Does it seem familiar? To us, the model is unmistakably reminiscent of actress Natalie Portman. Some, but not all, of that familiarity has transferred over to the in-game model. Was Portman an artistic inspiration? Is she directly involved? Our attempts to reach Ubisoft's Montreal offices resulted in failure.

The use of real-life personalities in games and game design is not unprecedented. The default Commander Shepherd model in Mass Effect is based on Dutch model Mark Vanderloo. Chell, the protagonist in Portal, is based on voice actress Alésia Glidewell, and Kristen Bell not only provided her likeness but also voiced a character in Assassin's Creed. Not to mention, of course, nearly every video game based on a movie or TV show.

I'm sorry, but I just don't see Portman in that character. At all.

I sort of see it in the nose, but not really that much.

Either way, I've only seen her in a few movies (Star Wars, Garden State), but she's not that great of an actress...

The picture on the left looks at least very* similar to Natalie Portman. Just look at the pic I linked a few posts up.

Yeah, that's just a generic gorgeous woman. Gorgeousness is the only point in common with Portman.

Natalie Portman is a cute little yenta. Oy!

The nose, eyebrows and mouth are almost identical, as is the shape of the face generally. the only real point of contention for me are the eyes which sit higher on the characters face and are a different shape.

For the record, those aren't the only two movies I've seen her in....

I agree, she looks alot like Yuna but nothing like Portman.

Natalie Portman? Seriously? I'm just glad that concept art looks nothing like Portman. Ugh, Natalie's "I'll always look like I'm 13 and just hitting puberty" face always disturbs me.

On the left most picture i see Angelina Jolie, but i don't see anyone that resembles the right most picture.

The girl in the drawing is unmistakably Alfred E. Neuman.

That was exactly who I was thinking of when I saw those pictures.

Don't get me wrong - Natalie Portman is good looking. But in the face, especially front on, that's all Famke.

On the left I see Sandra Bullock, and on the right I see Leelu Dallas Multipass.

I think she looks similar to a lot of actresses, like a younger Famke Janssen or Terri Hatcher or Kiera Knightley...

What the hell is wrong with you, Ross Miller? Unmistakably? Please keep your fantasies to yourself and post real stories/news.

To me she's more of an amalgamation of Famke Janssen and Keira Knightley (more Keira than Famke).

If you'd just posted the pic on the left + the portman pic, I'd totally agree. The PoP character in the left-hand pic has an extremely similar bone structure (cheek bones, brow ridge, jaw line especially) of Natalie Portman (not based on the pic, based on memory; she's one of my favorite actresses); not to mention very similar nose. Eyes/nose shape are a bit off, but close enough that I can see the likeness pretty clearly.

The rightmost shot though looks more like generic hot chick.... Correct me if I am wrong but the left pic looks like concept art vs the right an in-game screenshot? Perhaps they evolved the character so they don't have to pay likeness rights? Or more likely perhaps the concept artist worked from a photo of a beautiful actress he/she happens to be a fan of, such practices aren't exactly uncommon...

I think this is a massive leap and a sore excuse to talk more about the new game :P

The one on the right looks like Adriana Lima IMHO!

If it's going that far... then I might as well say that the main girl in all those final fantasy 13 trailers is unmistakably Millia Jovoich.

The picture on the left looks EXACTLY like Portman, but the one on the right doesn't at all other than the hair style. Are the ones on the left and on the right both from Prince of Persia? They don't even look like the same girl.
