Spore: Creature Stage wanders onto land, into blog post
17
EA just dropped a handful of screens and a short recap of Spore's second stage – the Creature Stage – into our laps (we have a hand there ... and some eyes ... and mandibles). Of course, they did the same thing last week for the opening "Cell Stage" and we presume they'll keep doing so in the coming weeks; we've still got Tribal, Civilization, and Space to look forward to.
The Creature Stage jumps from Cell's 2D world into three dimensions, where you'll gather DNA points which you can use in the Creature Creator (check out our hands-ons and meet Sporky) to expand your critter's abilities. Here you'll encounter other strange species as you explore your world – "all of them created by other players" – and you'll "race" to "become the first sentient being" on your planet. It's like massively single-player online gaming.

When does Spore come out again? Between this, MGS4, LBP, Gears2, Banjo, and a lot more I can't think of right now, this year is looking good for everyone:)

See this might be a game that deserves a 10. I'm not 100% certain of course since it hasn't come out and I haven't played it yet but its look more and more awesome each time.
It definitely will be a great game that probably revolutionizes its genre.

Personal goal in Spore:
Create the creature from aliens in mind, body, and actions. I want something that will destroy all, such that people who have the misfortune to meet my creature will question there very existence!
Speaking of which, I hope we start up an email exchange for Joystiq in creature trading!

Oh shocking - someone wants to make a creature that destroys everyone elses.
I think the idea is that each build has stengths and weaknesses, and that there is no allowance for someone to make a creature that can "destroy all". (Sorry to ruin your fun with the idea of others having fun too. :P)

The concept of this game seems ok. The execution so far looks awful. The more video I see of this game, the less and less interested I am.
Sorry, that's just my opinion. I think this game is overhyped.
