This week, Target has 1600 MS points for $15
This week's Target sales paper has a special gift for those who want relatively cheaper Xbox Live content: a 1600 Microsoft Points for $14.99 (plus applicable sales tax), a great price given the currency conversion of $20. So unless your state has a 34% sales tax (which would thus negate the sale), we'd suggest stocking up while you can. Go now and enjoy, the deal ends May 31.

Bit Torrent for the Win

Piracy for the lose.
BananaBoat @ May 28th 2008 1:24AM
You are what is destroying PC gaming. Good show
Anyone else thinking of turning that 5 dollar margin into a quick 50-100 dollar profit on Ebay? rofl. I'm not, because I am damn lazy, but it seems like a nice opportunity lol.
I'll pick a couple up though, so I'll be ready the next time a RezHD type game comes out, or the next map pack.
John McPoop (PSN:johnnynumber5) @ May 28th 2008 1:45AM
I was joking around you bunch of squares ...
I use to download tons of movies (never games) but I have since found sites that just stream new movies (even ones not in theaters yet) ...
Piracy might suck but what else do you expect with the internet and no accountability ... Why do you think people on sites like this one say such hateful things with no fear of retribution ...
As far as I have seen it is not possible to play ripped PS3 games ... PC is obviously super duper easy if you want to do it ... Not sure about the Wii and 360 ...
Nothing wrong with Bit Torrent downloading ... From my limited knowledge its not even illegal to download the material ... using it is another matter
BananaBoat @ May 28th 2008 1:55AM
Now you are just trolling =p
josh @ May 28th 2008 9:25AM
It is illegal to even download copyrighted material, at least in the USA. The whole "if you don't play it/if you have the actual cartridge/if you delete it after 3 days it's okay" things are wrong. if you own super mario bros, its still illegal for you to download a rom of super mario bros, even if you never use it or share it.

Somehow, this reminds me of LAST Summer when I spent waaay too much time hunting down a Circuit City with XBL points to cash in on their "buy one get one" deal. Things were freakin' sold out everywhere. I even drove to a city I didn't even know to grab two out of one that had, like, ten, only to find out that some douchebag had grabbed ALL of them for himself a half-hour prior.
And frankly, I kind of see this happening again. I think I'll limit it to my local Target this time... much more convenient than the local Circuit City, for sooth.
Ralod @ May 28th 2008 2:12AM
To be fair though circuit city is kind of notorious for advertising something and only having a handful of the deal items just to get people in the stores. I can personally name 3 times it happening to me in a similar situation at CC.
Target has, to me, always seemed to have a good deal of what they put on sale. And I bet if they run out you could get a raincheck too.

Picked up one of these this past weekend for Penny Arcade! Worked well indeed!
This is a mighty fine deal!
Trethan @ May 28th 2008 1:26AM
Target freaks me out. There's just way, way too much red. I feel like I should get angry if I even think about going to one.
Wii60Warrior @ May 28th 2008 1:36AM
Whats the normal price at Target for 1600 points? $20 as the article mentions (sorry if thats a dumb question. I wasn't quite sure what the author was trying to say).
Anyways I might try to pick up some...
Corrin Avatan @ May 28th 2008 1:44AM
Yo, this is whack... I go on Target.com, and they're charging 24.99 plus shipping for a 1600 point card... MSRP IS ONLY $20.00!!!!! This article is only an hour old, WHY THE SUDDEN PRICE HIKE!?!?!?!?!?!?
John McPoop (PSN:johnnynumber5) @ May 28th 2008 1:48AM

"This week's **Target sales paper** has a special gift for those who want relatively ..."
I think it is only an in-store deal and not available on-line
Hey Apples @ May 28th 2008 1:51AM
This has been making the rounds on the Rock Band forums for a few days thanks to their unquenchable thirst for MSP.
An interesting thing of note for those who cannot find cards stock... if you get a copy of the paper ad, Walmart and various other big name retailers will match the price.
Corrin Avatan @ May 28th 2008 2:04AM
John Mcpoop
At no point in the ad does it say "in-store offer only" or "not available online". In fact, it doesn't even say it on that entire PAGE. From working retail, that means that the offer should apply online, as well, and if they are out, they have to honor rainchecks unless it says "limited quantities"
Chris @ May 28th 2008 2:31AM
I picked up 10 1600MS Point Rockband cards from Walmart over the weekend for $10 each so a 50% savings. Not sure why they were on clearance but work out nicely. I have not checked any other Walmarts but this was in Edwards, CO and do not think that I need more than 16,000 MS points.
Chase @ May 28th 2008 3:46AM
Also, check out CheapAssGamer to find out how to get it for five bucks. Wee!
dew it @ May 28th 2008 4:54AM
already got 2, going back friday and getting 2 more.
vidGuy @ May 28th 2008 7:21AM
I picked up two on Sunday. The only thing stopping me from getting more is that Toys R Us will occasionally have a B1G1F sale on accessories and point cards count, so you can get 3200 points for USD$20. THAT'S when I stock up.
Jcarpio @ May 28th 2008 8:15AM
And this is when MS's space bucks are at their best.
you can't have a sale when putting money in your sony wallet right?
Vcize @ May 28th 2008 10:49AM
Doesn't PSN have point cards now too?
K387 @ May 28th 2008 9:30AM
Man, I wish we in Canada has deals like this. The closest thing to a deal I ever found was Toys R Us clearing their 1250 point cards for $10. To put that into perspective, at the time, 1000 points were going for $15.50.

Got mine, Ikaruga and Castlevania SotN, the best way I could spend $15!
Harrison @ May 28th 2008 10:15AM
You can use a $10 off coupon and get the 1600 point cards for $5 each. I have stocked up on 15 point cards! Not very often you are able to purchase currency at a 75% discount.
TrueDarkFusion @ May 28th 2008 12:19PM
I live in IL and whenever I purchase points from gamestop for $19.99 there is no tax. The sales clerk told me that there's no tax because MS points are technically a currency so the government cannot legally tax it. He said it would be the same as taxing a subscription to a MMO.
HyeWarrior @ May 28th 2008 2:44PM
Ohhh I was wondering why the total was $29.98 instead of over $30 with tax... That's pretty neat to know :P
HyeWarrior @ May 28th 2008 2:42PM
I just went on Monday and picked up 2 cards. They had about 6 or 7 of them, the ones that aren't in the plastic wrappings.
3200 MS Points on my account FTW! Now... Where's my Castle Crashers?! :@
