Chart-Track UK: 360 outselling PS3 following GTA IV launch

While the sales traction gained in GTA IV's wake has been more dramatic for the Xbox 360, year-to-date sales still place the PlayStation 3 ahead in the UK. According to Chart-Track's 2008 figures, there still remains a 10% gap between the two rivals.

Besides, what is so exciting about these numbers to you? The PS3 that you hate so much is still 10% ahead in the UK overall. I just don't see what the "Sony bitches" need to think about.

Still seems a little bit creepy to me to be "proud" of being a gamer. I've been gaming all my life. It's my favourite form of entertainment....but that's like taking pride in being a "tv watcher" :s

And this I do have to wonder. You champion the Wii60 movement which is soooo cute in a second grade sort of way. And while Peter Moore was initially all about it, he turned quickly after Reggie Fils-Aime slammed your movement. To paraphrase, "I think it's just silly. I don't want people to buy a Wii and a 360. I was people to buy a Wii and some Wii games. The entire notion is silly." To which Peter Moore responded at Litzpieg paraphrased "It's cute he would say that since we have the higher software tie ratio and stores aren't forcing bundles on our customers."
In other words, both companies are pissing on the movement you're championing. How does it feel to be a tool to people who basically mock you with each sip of crystal in their penthouse?

I think its pretty obvious that you're not a sony fanboy. I've been posting here for a while and reading Joystiq for even longer so I know that you primarily enjoy the 360. Not sure if you own a ps3 or Wii. And if you have a ps3 thats your decision (and in my opinion a waste of money). Not insulting you or anything. Just what I think.

3) Wii + 360 = Wii60 = >>>>>>>>>>>>> ps3
Oh and as for the "cutting board" (I'm guessing you're referring to WiiFit) LMAO. It must kill you arrogant sony or hardcore gamers that normal people find something enjoyable in the Wii that doesn't necessarily involve guns, violence, drugs, or w/e it is that makes gaming and your kind "HARDCORE". Just like anyone else I enjoy a variety of game types and I'm not ashamed to admit that WiiFit is definitely a must buy for me and my family. And its not like we're getting like because we're fatasses like most of America seems to be these days.

And Nato I don't shoot down anything Wii related. I do hate some of the trash games that are released on it and the online could be better but overall I think the Wii is a decent system. Its just that I think Nintendo should make sure that theres a high standard for the quality of 3rd Party games released on it.

Well, my PS3 at least has Bluray (which I love) and can connect me to the internetz via its web browser that I only use to get PS3 themes. Everyone has their preferences in the end, just let it be man.

As for being jealous of this gem, why and I jealous? If I cared about WiiFit, I'd walk to my local mall, pick one up, and play it. You are working under the assumption that I don't own a Wii. I have one, I just don't PLAY it. And WiiFit will NEVER be a comparable workout to the gym I belong to which runs only $8 a month. And as for being a revolutionary gem, dude, both Xavix Personal Tracker and EyeToy: Kinetic predate WiiFit. You see the logo and claim innovation. I see the logo and it only tells me what factory it was made in.

Yeah, but my gym isn't exactly the best. It has the equipment I need and that's all. Basically it was a gutted restaurant right next to a sports supply shop and a booze shop. And it's open 24 hours which is better than the much more expensive Cardinal Fitness I used to belong to. So when I get insomnia real bad, I can go workout, BIG plus.

There's only one game people buy or have bought a PS3 for and it certainly wasnt GTA4. It's not going to be MGS4. Its not LBP, Resistance or Killzone. These are all things filling the void.
It seems Sony and Final Fantasy are not mutually exclusive. Square Enix won't release Final Fantasy until the install base of the PS3 is sufficient to cover the production costs. Conversely, the PS3 cannot hit the install base Square Enix is waiting on without them releasing Final Fantasy XIII. Pretty much all the foolish people ever going to buy a PS3 before FFXIII is dated have already done so (myself included) and the rest is a stalemate of a catch-22.

FF has sucked ass since FF 10 but FFXIII COULD be the game that brings the series back to its former glory...
At least thats what SE and sony/sony fanboys are hoping for.
Quietly I'm kinda hoping the next FF game is a great success as well. I love the series title "Final Fantasy"...its just so epic.
Trust me when I say that ps3 sales will probably be ridiculous the day FF13 drops on this planet.
That is unless the 360 happens to get EXTREMELY lucky and it becomes multiplat by the grace of God. However I think the chances of that are very slim at best. Unless ps3 sales are not to SE's liking.

I'm one of the people that got the PS3 for the FF series in particular (as I've said before). So people can talk all the trash about the series that they want, but there are people out there who like it and will buy consoles for it.
Also, how did FF12 suck ass? Besides you just having the need to be inflammatory - do you have any reasoning for that theory?

Dude, I used to love FF and other JRPGs. As I've gotten older, though, and make more money, the draw of the JRPG is fading away. I used to like a FF (or other JRPG) because I knew that:
A.) The game would last long enough to justify the $50 I just spent on it.
B.) I had few other games or other obligations to take up my time... therefore the 80+ hour timesink was totally possible.
Now, with a family, I can only play in short stretches late at night, and with a good income, I'm already sitting on 6 games that I haven't quite finished yet. Don't get me wrong, I would love another FF, but I didn't have the time to get through XII, nor could I completely stay awake through cutscenes and level grinds late at night after working all day. I don't think that XIII will be any different.
The system sellers for me will be GoW3 and Ueda's new title. I have a feeling that they will be both be beautiful, engaging, and be the perfect length.

I have a lot of obligations as well, but that hasn't made me lose interest in games I enjoy. I just accepted that I can't do 12 hr sessions with them long ago. I haven't been able to do that since law school. So I take my time with most of them, and thus have a huge backlog of games to get to at home.
