Mass Effect PC players will soon have a chance to "Bring Down the Sky" (did you see what we did there?), as BioWare has announced that the free downloadable content will be available very soon for the PC version of the giant space epic.
The content -- available on the Xbox 360 since March -- includes a brand new uncharted world, and the inclusion of the ass-ugly Batarian race. And did we mention that it's free? That's incredibly good per-eyeball value.

It was a good little mission. Not sure how it ties into mass effect 2 just yet but I guess they have 3 or 4 more DLC's to connect it.

Honestly, I am much more interested in the community mods than whatever Bioware can cook up.

Installed Mass Effect yesterday and have since encountered a litany of bugs, freezes and errors, the latest of which makes the game unplayable.
I thought it was my machine, but a quick check at the Bioware Mass Effect programs proves this isn't the case - technical issues appear to be myriad.
So please, Bioware, how about a motherfucking patch before any DLC?

More like: it's made by BioWare, what'd you expect?
Those guys are veteran devs, but it pisses me off how glitchy their games are consistently. PC games always have that problem, but as far as high-budget studios go, BioWare is a cut above the rest when it comes to bugs.

No problems here. Rarely do I encounter serious problems with games.

I'm so unbelievably tired of pictures of ugly bald blue-skinned woman and this guy. It's not even his weird eyes and nose that are gross - it's that disgusting double chin.
Joystiq's incessant posting of these two characters (or two races, or whatever) has made the decision for me not to buy Mass Effect.

Actually, my general distaste for BioWare games has made the decision for me. Seeing these characters over and over again just gives me reason to complain.

This was easily my favorite 360 game to date maybe sans Gears Of War ... I am almost positive that it will control much better on the PC ... To bad my eeePC is incapable ... Hell I might even play through it again

This is my question to. I can't see how they can release it free for PC owners will continue to make 360 owners pay for it. Its fine to charge for something when its exclusive for several months but now?

Hopefully it's free eventually, but I doubt it. Microsoft doesn't seem to like putting stuff for free on the Marketplace, though they make exceptions for Bungie. I just remember Unreal wanted to give some Gears maps out, but Microsoft made them charge because they wanted money.

That's your punishment for believing in a 360 "exclusive". Exclusive on a Microsoft platform=coming soon to a PC near you in a better format. Halo? KoTor? Jade Empire? Bioshock? Etc etc.
And here's how they can release it free for PC users:we'd riot in the streets of the information superhighway. We're not stupid enough to shell out $3 for a frickin pony, or for a cheat code, or any mod that costs them comparatively little to keep their product alive, or that we can make ourselves and distribute. The console market is prime raping grounds, and it's also much harder to pirate DLC/etc in the console market.
Ultimately, it's the same as the reason you're now paying $60 per game because it's "high definition" when we've had superior software for the same price or less:the console market told you to jump, and like good little sheeple you asked "how high, master?". Oooooh, many games run at 720p! My, how exciting that resolution was IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY.
