Fancy new Fracture site announces October release date
LucasArts has updated the official website for their terrain-deforming third-person shooter Fracture. Now featuring a wide array of videos and other content, the site also proudly claims an October release date for the anticipated title.
The website offers videos demonstrating the range of terrain-deforming weapons, convincing us even more that Fracture is the true spiritual successor to the classic PC game Scorched Earth. LucasArts has also launched a community wiki for the game, presumably because the constantly changing landscape of the wiki echoes the constantly changing landscape of the-- nevermind.

I hope that LucasArts can pull this one off. It's a cool concept.

What's with this whole trend of sticking people in armor with blue neon lights on it? Seriously.

he just came from a rave.

its not that that bothers me, its the trend of designing all that armour and then NOT having any sort of helmet. It seems somewhat pointless. Gears did this too.

Sounds like a cool idea.
If they don't screw up the multiplayer, I'll probably get it. I know people are already calling this a mediocre shooter but quite frankly, terrain deformation is not a common gameplay element. At least some credit should be given for the simple fact that Lucas Arts is experimenting, which is more than can be said for a lot of companies.

I just watched a few of the 'terrain deformation weapon' videos on their web site, and tbh, there's not a lot of deformation going on!

"the true spiritual successor to the classic PC game Scorched Earth"
Those are bold bold words. I'm really expecting a fun 2-3 hour fun experience from this game, if that.

I want to be excited for this game but for some reason I just can't get into the concept ... If terrain deformation were part of the game it might work but not as the main selling point ... Also, the "hero" looks like a rip off of Shepard from Mass effect ... Not as bad as he looked before with dreds and the shiny vest but still not great ...
No excitement at all for this one ...

Sweet! Bald headed angry space marines! I can't get enough of em!

I hate the look of that things, I liked the yellow colour for the suit it kinda seperated it from the pack but now I'm thinking its a washover...
