Ninja Gaiden II demo out today in Japan, rest of the world 'soon'

A demo for the ultra-violent Ninja Gaiden II is due out today for the approximately 14 people in Japan who own an Xbox 360. Chris Paladino of Micorosft's Gamercore blog confirmed the news via NeoGAF earlier this morning, adding, "Looking for details on rest of world, haven't found anything other than 'soon,'" followed by a colon and a capital P.

Since March, the NGII page on Xbox.com had a message that said, "Get your hands on the free demo coming to Xbox LIVE Marketplace in May," but that was quietly removed sometime this week. Ninja Gaiden II will paint the wall with blood in North America and Europe next week.

Now how can you say a game like ninja gaiden sucks? I mean seriously dude, it may not be the greatest thing since slice bread but its a pretty damn good game. Unless you just suck which would make the game suck I guess. Hmm, so maybe it does suck

I am a card carrying member of the SDF, The only 2 games coming out this year that make me jealous of 360 owners is NG2 and GOW2.

This game doesn't have the best selling track record in the U.S. either. They really should put a demo on the American XBL as well.

Yeah.... The original Ninja Gaiden (remake) sold really well and had good critical reception. Not sure how that gives it a bad track record....

I used my JP silver account and added the GTA4 free month to make it Gold.

I sent a Ninja Gaiden recommendation to everyone on my Friendlist , so now they should be able to get it too !

Cool demo , though I wish it had a boss fight.

You should really finish that game man. I always see you playing it. I already finished it and I have to say is one of the best games I have ever played. Its great. I am still going back once in a while for the achievements.

How are people downloading this? I'm in the UK with a PAL 360, I've got a JP live account that I've added a month's gold to from GTA, and I've set my console locale as Japan, but I still get the "not available from your location" schtick. Anyone? No? Dust?

I'm in the US - I have a Japanese account that I've used for a while now, and I decided to use the free month card I got with my refurbished 360. It won't let me download the demo either..

I guess they've caught on to our "fake" gamertags and restricted access to the downloads.

Huge bummer! I mean why restrict access to a demo in the first place?!?

Sure it was.... just looked it up. Sold 1.5M as of August 07. At least according to a citation in wikipedia. Could be wrong, but I know the game was highly anticipated at least.
