Suits me fine.

It wasn't intended as a neutral comment.

How's Kotaku this time of year? I've never been there.

3 things:

1) I see more and more people playing the PSP on the train here in Tokyo than I have in the past. Still more DS's, but PSP is making a good show.

2) There's a brand-spanking new monster size billboard advertisement for MSG4 at the Shibuya Hachiko crossing reading 'MSG4 + PS3'. That would have cost a fortune. It will sell like MAD.

3) It's no way near summer here! Last week 5 / 7 days were rain. Saturday it was 14 degrees (c)! Maybe the console sales are up because it's raining so much!

Yup, well thats never going to happen, silly Microsoft hasn't realised that thats the key to a Japanese heart yet and are blaming it on Japan as a whole rather then themselves ¬_¬

But then you look at software sales and find out why the PSP is selling so well right now...

Not faulting it. MH is my fave PSP series and I can't wait to play it on the Wii, it's the only non-Mario Kart game I'm playing at the moment too. I don't see the DS reaching the same mega sales until DQ either. Time for that system to slow down some.

But we know its Monster Hunter :S Does Sony?

Its a bit obvious to tell, as soon as monster hunter releases in Japan, sales spike and PSP goes from 3rd to 1st, if thats anything to go by, Sony should already be securing titles in the same line as Monster Hunter for both PSP and PS3 instead of mindlessly competing with Microsoft for best lame FPS.

Since when does an FPS title define the winner of the Gen?

If Sony were smart, they would have made sure Capcom remained keeping MH exclusive to thier console. I know Capcom don't do exclusives, but with the right incentives....

Exuctly! I was a bit surprised to see Capcom let the series go to the Wii so easily. So long as Capcom have a cosy chat with Nintendo on how to remove loading times then we'll be good to go. The only thing I don't like about MH is the loading.

And that G2 has no release date for us English speakers.

It is probably more to do with not building a new engine from the ground up ... They can run similar assets on the Wii as they did on the PSP and PS2 ...

Obviously the Wii has the largest install base so there are more consumers for their product ... Sony would have benefited no doubt but not Capcom ... Sony def should have thrown a huge sack of money their way for exclusivity

Install base or not, they could have done more with that game on PS3 and 360, hands down, no doubt the Wii version will be superb, so much so it deserves its own exclusive version of Monster Hunter like was done with Star Wars Force unleashed.

But PS3 and 360 should have had it too, XBL or PSN would have made the whole MMORPG experience superb.

The one Capcom game I actually care about other then RE5 and its going to Wii, so why not put all the rest on Wii too? :S If its about install base, why doesn't lost planet, Devil may cry, dead rising etc etc appear on Wii?

And all those games are are 1 off type games, once you complete them they get boring, MH, the game that could and would last the longest goes to Wii exclusivly ¬_¬ WTF???

Glad to see I'm not the only one a little disappointed that MH is going Wii-crazy. Don't get me wrong, I like the Wii, but I would have liked to see what they could have pulled off on the PS3/360. Like Maverick said, PSN/XBL would have made the online scene a ton of fun. Instead it's going to end up cumbersome and clunky. I grow sad.
