Well, I had a poll up for about 3 months asking if we should keep the show short or long. The results were literally split right down the middle. So, in terms of show length, we're damned if we do, and damned if we don't.

They should do the next show on walkie talkies with annoying nerd voices just for laughs. Also, the file seemed to stop playing about half way through due to an error. Should I redownload or is it the same for everyone?

Yeah, that sometimes happens with the file, especially lately with the Zune Marketplace and iTunes (for many podcasts, not just ours.)

On the Zune, delete the subscription the re-add it. In iTunes, delete the episode, then go to our page in iTunes and click "Get" on the specific episode to re-download it.

at 13:20 in this podcast they reply an email from an Indian dude about whether or not the 40gb would get ps2/ps1 back compatibility anytime soon and the host guesses Yes 'cause of the fact that Sony searched for emulation developers.

They also mention that the 60 and 80gb versions have hardware that copes with the ps2/ps1-games and the 40gb don't.. This is true, but what is also true is that the European 60gb version does NOT have this hardware but in fact an emulator to play the old games. this emulator was not complete by release but has been updated in every FW-release. (every old game could not be played from day1)

My point is that while I do not think it is impossible the 40gb will get back-comp in some time I don't think that it is wise to rely on the fact that sony needed emulator developers, those ppl could just re-enforce the already existing emulation-developing group and it is possible that the next gen 80gb could get emulator world-wide just like the EU60gb

I wanna give a wink to those who are experimenting with ps3 homebrews; take a look at the EU60gb, rip the emulator, put into 40gb, Profit!

Sorry, but the European 60 GB does in fact have partial PS2 hardware; it doesn't have the Emotion Engine CPU but it still has the Graphics Synthesizer GPU from the PS2. It's exactly the same as the U.S. 80 GB PS3.

No PS3 has a pure software emulator for PS2 games.

Nice podcast. Never listened before, but will listen again..

You said 'poignant' a couple of times, but I think the word you meant to use was 'topical'. Maybe you misunderstood the meaning of the word, maybe I misheard because I was in and out of the room doing chores at the time.

GREAT PODCAST, About what you guys talked about on the GTA 4 sales with that voice message. If you look at the numbers Sony has sold 13 Million consoles world wide and 360 has sold 18 million world wide. With that in mind the PS3 has sold more GTA 4 games per console because both consoles have almost sold the same amount for each system and 360 has more consoles so we can see that with the numbers of GTA 4 sales on 360 and the amount of consoles sold for 360 it's not that big in sales compared to the amount of systmes they have sold. P.S I love both systems and love what they both offer so I'm just stating my opinon. Please 360 fanboys dont kill me. I hope all of that made sense. If not sorry.

I vote in favour of keeping the podcasts long (at least when you've got enough to talk about in the time). I dip in and out of it when I have spare time during the week.

But I also vote in favour of whoever has the music playing in the background, turning it off. Listen to it through headphones and you can go half-mad!

I also vote to turn the music off, to me thats the only problem with the show its only minor though. I also think the longer the show the better you can really go in depth on subjects which is great.
