We've got Faith No More in the new Street Fighter IV trailer
72
The font of incredible trailers continues to pour from the bounteous spigot of CAPtivate '08 -- the above trailer for Street Fighter IV went live rather subtly last night, only to deliver a patented E. Honda "thousand hand bitch slap" to our unprepared senses this Sunday morning. It even includes one of our favorite songs to sing from Rock Band: Faith No More's "Epic". We don't know why seeing Blanka go all sparky to the disjointed vocals of Mike Patton gets us so hyped, but our excitement for the revivification of what many would argue is the greatest arcade fighting series ever has just increased tenfold.
However, it should be noted that depending on your feelings towards Gamestop and their pre-order policies, you may view the last seven seconds of this righteous trailer as being decidedly un-epic.

People here are forgetting that there is no real release date for this thing except maybe Winter and just maybe later this year. This is probably if anything still in Alpha for all it's worth.
I'm sure that they'll smooth things out or if they don't then that's one production team that's not going to have a good time finding new jobs.

All you haters are gonna get the game anyway. It seems like you all fear a change. Would you like them to just re-create the sprites in HD and release that? Oh yeah... you are getting that too... so haters, play the old games if you can't handle this.. and let us who like the look of SF4 keep up with the latest and enjoy.

So what your saying is, if we have differing opinions we're automatically labeled haters? Some of us like what we see and some don't. You have games you don't like too? Don't you? I guess I can label you a hater as well. Seriously, you have some pretty fucked up logic going there.

I don't feel like continuing a blog argument, but ;) I'm just saying that people hate on things so much its amazing. But I guess no matter what is out, someone will hate it. Those people are Haters (just like me)... I'm just surprised that people reading joystiq don't have a more open pov about games. Like someone posted before, every joystiq post has negative feedback.

Most people here are claiming that this game is just a rehash and that the only thing that they have changed were the graphics, when in reality, it is far from it...now tell me, what do you call that?

Mr Khan
You are only complaining about the art style, which is understandable if we take in mind that this is one that isn't commonly used (I like it tho)
Slayer,
One thing is to state your opinion, and another thing is to state a fact, and some commenters are stating as a fact that this is simply a rehash, which like I mentioned before, is false, actually, far from it.
Which brings up the next point, one at first sight wont be able to see that changes between different installments of fighting games, this genere is one of those that are more detailed than many others in which precision and timing DOES count. (oh, also, is it me, or is this game much faster than previous games?
All in all, people can have their opinions, and have them respected, but what if they aren't basing their opinions on something that they haven't fully reviewed?...

I'm not an SF at all really...the only SF game I own is Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game, and I'd rather play Puzzle Fighter than the real SF any day. But this looks pretty good to me.

It looks like something a stupid kid would post on youtube, but instead of using System of Down or Rammstein, they used Faith No More.
So the kid couldn't be that stupid, maybe just trapped in '93.

woah woah, it has nothing to do with the game being Japanese...its because it is a fighting game!
Look, unlike other genres, there is not much that can be changed on a fighting game, not only that, but a minor change on the mechanics could cause many changes in battle...
Why do you think that all of the fighting games don't improve that much between installments? and if they do, they have taken their sweet time to think about the pros and cons and see that everything works as they intended it to, and most of all, that it stays balanced.

The pre-order bonus is pretty nice though, it's the Art of Street Fighter Book.
I think I'll have to add this to my "pre-order" list.
This a good year for fighting games indeed. I wonder if KoF XII will see a console release too

@ Mr. deft
I think the pre-order bonus is a sampler booklet for the upcoming Udon Street Fighter book due later this summer or fall.

Somehow I dont think this trailer captures the right mood. It didnt even appeared professional to me. More like the stuff the GT-Community is putting together.

It's funny i'll bet anything all these people complaining and crying about the game will end up buying it anyways. They just need to "WAAAHHHHH" for some reason.

Can't decide....
