Harmonix localizes Rock Band for Japan

We know that many of you aren't happy with Harmonix lately, but the company is making an honest effort to appeal to gamers in Japan. In fact, for the Japanese version of Rock Band, Harmonix is teaming up with Q Entertainment, who's responsible for games like Lumines, Meteos, and Rez HD.

Hoping that Q Entertainment will add some eastern appeal to the game, Harmonix is aiming to completely localize it for Japanese audiences. Aside from the things that Q will bring to the table, this also means that the title will feature Japanese music and bands. Perhaps this will help Rock Band succeed in Japan where Guitar Hero couldn't.

Now, if only Harmonix showed the same dedication to English-speaking Wii owners, we might not have such an uprising on our hands.

So, does this mean it'll have mostly J-rock? If so, this may be an import.

i wish they made a rockband or guitar hero version with spanish music.

This may potentially be import worthy.

I'd kill if they had ANYTHING by L'arc En Ciel~ or...

Okay, so obviously I'm about to most reference bands who did anime themes but whatever, I am NOT the only one who would kill to play Rewrite by Asian Kung Fu Generation on Rock Band and anyone buying it for similar reasons should be honest like myself damn it. D

Oh, if only I had known this a few weeks ago, I might have put off purchasing Guitar Hero 3. Not that I'm unhappy with Guitar Hero 3; it's just that there are soooooo many songs/bands on there that I'm not familiar with (after 15+ years in Japan so far).

Are you able to import just the game? I would imagine that importing the entire Rock Band set would cost a lot, not to mention the fact that you would need a Japanese Wii to play it on...
