Like in some of Mario Kart DS's missions, it's just a stage not normally selectable that is in the game.

like the rest of this game, this stage is just ehhhhh. this game was not impressive at all, and suprisingly, not much fun either.

Don't see what that had to do with the article, but whatever. I disagree - other than Mario Kart Super Circuit, this is my favorite Mario Kart game to date.

After Double Dash, this is my favorite Mario Kart. Lots of tracks, characters and karts/bikes. And online.

Super Circuit? Double Dash!!? Seriously?

This is my third favorite, after Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart 64 in first and second, respectively.

For me, it goes DS>64>Wii>DD!!>Super>Super Circuit

Modders should get on this and figure out if its a direct-to-RAM download or its unlocked disc content

Given the insane blandness of the stage in question, i would err on the former.

As for Kakiray, I doubt he even has a Wii; he's just trolling.

Nintendo will probably never have DLCs. The wii doesn't have a lot of storage as it is.

Didn't you read the article here in Joystiq about Guitar Hero World Tour? The Wii version will have DLC.

Iwata hinted for a storage solution last month. I guess they will announce somethin in E3.

I dread to think what Nintendo will decide is a 'storage solution'.

1.44MB floppy drive for the Wii confirmed!

Lol, good gad a floppy drive would be hilarious. How about a full size, old-school laser disc?

Yes Nintendo, please stop giving me surprise new FREE stages that have a context, point and comes and goes in a flash thus keeping the game unpredictable and a little fresh.

How dare you >.>

To be honest, I just clicked on this to see what Fernando's response was ;). But seriously, I own a Wii and the storage is a joke. Whether they have DLC isn't the problem (even though they don't), it's that there is no way that the DLC can even fit on the Wii's storage system. Color me skeptical that they will ever release a solution because I can't imagine Nintendo's current audience ever wanting or needing it.

Believe me though, I am hoping that they do so they can get some REAL DLC for Smash Bros.

Smash Bros. do have DLC, you can download new stages for free!!!!!, just need a SD card, a 2gb should be about 20 bucks nowadays

With all of the VC and WW titles they need a storage solution and fast ... I do not consider SD cards a solution because they are to expensive for larger ones and you can't actually launch the content from the cards ...

This is why the Wii was so cheap from the start ... It really did not come with anything extra out of the box ... Much like the 360 you will have to add on everything as an external part ... However, I do give Nintendo credit for including built in wireless

You can get a 16GB SD card for $75, 8GB for $40, or a 4GB for $25.

However, the point is moot because SD cards larger than 2GB use the SDHC interface, which is physically different from normal SD. As per my own tests, Wii cannot physically read cards that use SDHC, not even one that is 32MB. This means Wii will NEVER be able to use more than 2GB via the SD slot.

That being said, you can pick up a 2GB SD card for about $10.

I luffle at the fact John thinks SD cards are expensive and also owns a PS3, now there's irony.

One also has to wonder if John has a PSP and thinks the Memory Pro Ex Alpha Upper Duo are "good value".

Considering my 360 DLC takes up 6gb, with all them HD textures, 5.1 audio blah blah. Then a 4gb SD card (£16) for the Wii is going to be perfect, especially when you consider that only a couple of games even have DLC.

@chez

Don't buy that 4GB SD card. Everyone keeps making this mistake. It will not work! 2GB is the max.

I said REAL DLC for a reason. Having a ton of shit stages be automatically downloaded to your Wii for a day does not count. Don't tell me that I can download user created stages featured on WiiFanboy or anywhere else because I don't have an SD card and even if I did, it is far too much of a hassle to even be worth it.

1.- download the stages
2.- put em on some certain folders inside the sdcard
3.- plug the sd card on the wii
4.- play em!!

Is that much of a hassle for you???

Man, keep yourself out of the homebrew scene, you will die by only reading the instruction then

People just need to go out buy a real game system. No nickel and dime BS Nintendo Wii/Gamecube. A state of the art PS3 or Xbox360, what true fanboys rub in each other's faces. That way you don't have to haggle about last gen tech limitations!

Go jack yourself, all 3 nickel and dime you in their own way, first of all.

Nintendo allows you to use a common storage with SD cards, how are they nickel and diming you if you're not buying the memory cards from them? (which you can, but I'm sure most people don't) Isn't that a good thing? Granted the SD cards can't hold a lot of memory, but it's a good idea. Go buy an overpriced 360 hard drive and give money to Microsoft before telling me Nintendo is nickel and diming me jackass.

And true fanboys only get a 360 or a PS3? how stupid are you? Nintendo fanboys have been around way longer than XBoxes or Playstations and are wise in the ways of fanboydom, how do you think the NDF defends the Wii so well? You need to earn more stripes before making statements like that newb

I've enjoyed Mario Kart Wii a lot, and have played it almost as much as SSBB at this point.

Personally I have rather enjoyed these tournament challenges. I don't expect to be wowed by them, but they're nice as a way to change up the experience a little bit.

I think this was interesting to see in game crossovers. I also think that if Nintendo can ensure shared content across games then this would be an interesting "experiment"

Already we have Super Mario Galaxy (kind of) crossing over in Mario Kart Wii, how about turning the Super Smash Brothers Brawl stages to 3D (I'm not familiar with this game yet, it's STILL not available in Australia!) and using them in Super Mario Galaxy? Or perhaps the other way around?

Just a thought.
