New games this week: Ninja Gaiden II edition

See, now this is what a video game release week is supposed to be like. Not a lesser of several evils rising to the top like some sort of wicked curd separating from more sinister whey, but rather one glistening title beating out other worthy competitors. This week, where we feature Ninja Gaiden II, is just such a week.

But if totally flipping out and killing people isn't your style, fear not! There are several other decent choices this week, like Lego Indiana Jones, The Bourne Conspiracy or GRID. Check out the full list after the break.

It's very tempting to get it on 360 because of the easy cheevos those games usually have but Lego Indy will be mostly for my kids and wife. Don't get me wrong I love those games. I have Lego Starwars TCS for PS3 too, just beat it last weekend.

ahh I see, you stick the wife and kids on the ps3 while you horde the 360? I'm also picking it up for the wife, though I enjoy playing them with her. Anything that gets her to play a game is a win in my book!

LOL, yeah I'm kinda selfish with my 360. But yeah my kids prefer the PS3 over the Wii. I guess they got used to the type of games I played on 360 and just wanted to play those more. And it doesn't help that the Wii is in the master bedroom so its less accesible to them.

My wife loves the Lego games and I agree that getting her gaming one way or another is a win win!! :) One day she got back from the mall with Tetris Evolution for 360 and I said "uhh I didn't ask for that". lol She bought it for herself haha and she has 875gp on it. Only 3 achievements short of 1000gp.

haha nice, once I explained to my wife what gamerscore points were and how they worked on XBL she said "well we have to get them all". So we're at like 900 something in Star Wars TCS and about the same in the OT version. Even non-gamers can't escape the pull of gamerscore!

I wouldn't rent GRID if I were you. at least not for a while. I think you should buy an extra controller since you are probably going to smash the crap out that one you have while trying to beat Ninja Gaiden 2. lol! I mean, don't even bother with these Achievements man. :)

They still are not official, but they look Legit. They probably are going to end up being legit so take a look at them.

Yeah they look pretty legit. Other than beating it on the hardest dificulty I don't see a reason why I could't get over or around the 800gp level on it. Thats my sweet spot with most titles. I have 520 on GTAIV and beat it already so several more cheevos to go :) Damn, that is one sick game!

Well prepare to be dick-slapped in the face because NG2 is ridiculously difficult. By the 2nd level you start to feel like a true ninja warrior until the end of the level where you have to fight a rival ninja thats destroying your village. I have lost 2 hours on this boss and can't even get his health below 1/2.

Damn you Ninja Gaiden 2, starting out so awesome just like last time only to punk me and laugh in my face like some crybaby n00b. I hope you burn in hell NG2!!

I'm on board with Hulk. Hulk Ultimate was one of the secret best games of last gen. Here's to hoping this one turns out similarly.

Different developer though, so probably a different engine and everything. I'd wait for the reviews to make sure you don't end up with another Iron Man.

Iron Man wasn't bad. It just was mediocre. Like PS2 mediocre with shiny character models.

Watching the Hulk videos indicates a much better game. Probably close to a 7 than a 9. Which is still great by my really low super hero game standards.

Expensive week, and then MGS4 on top of that in 9 days. Time to sell off the wife's car or something.

im interested in lego indy. However I dont see much value in it considering I bought lego star wars tcs and it had 6 movies and just barely contained its value. Ill either wait for a price drop on the lego game or a 2nd game which includeds the 4th film (and more?).

Now all we need is lego back to the future :p

Ninja Gaiden looks a little bit samey so I think I'll wait for a price drop. Plus, I completed the DS version a few weeks back so I'm pretty much all Ninja-ed out.

I passed on DMC4 for this so I'm lacking in the hack-n-slash action genre. I cant wait, the game looks incredible in the Gametrailer HD review. It got penalized for reasons that dont really bother me too so its all to thee good.

I'm debating Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2...

I discovered I love Hot Shots much more on a portable system as I have over 100 hours on the PSP version and barely 20 on the PS3 version. And for $30, it seems like a no brainer... but still.

Its a shame it didn't last long, I had to pick up Portable ops and WWE08 last week to keep me entertained on the go ¬_¬.

GOW is like a memorable party, great while it lasts, but once its over, its over, and theres not much you can do :(
