Nintendo: 100 WiiWare titles in development warp pipe

The interview is actually more noteworthy for the lack of information Prata gave to some direct questions. He dodges whether there will be a hard drive in the near future for the Wii, or if Nintendo plans to lift the alleged 43MB size limit for WiiWare titles. He also wouldn't discuss which WiiWare titles have been the most popular. Prata did say, however, that consumers shouldn't hold their breath for WiiWare demos to become standard with available titles.

WiiWare efforts so far have been admirable. In some cases more worthwhile than full retail releases
I think the shovelware publishers know that the money is in getting people to pay full price. WiiWare should stay relatively clean of worthless trash. A lot of games that are shovelware would be fine as downloadable titles anyway

That game probably would have done better as a WiiWare effort, i think. Seems fitting.

im not putting on my SDF hat, but I will say that I have been kinda disappointed with the Wiiware title so far. Not to many that have me interested.
You are correct Mr Khan about them at least being creative and origianl, I hope that trend continues.

Shit, 43 MB?
Seems too low. N64 titles topped out at 64 MB (though admittedly few reached that lofty height, most stuck at 32 MB), so you would figure that they would have the largest WiiWare titles be equal to the largest VC titles

I am, but I'm forced to be VERY picky. I've only DL'd Lost Winds and that game is alright. Unless they release an HDD, any other game I download from them has to freakin' knock my socks off and then some.

They really need a hard drive. Nintendo should just package it with some game that requires it if they are worried about sales. (Pokemon MMO or something similar to the PS2 harddrive)

It's been said before that Nintendo has acknowledged the memory situation as an "issue," and is looking into it
Whether that will lead anywhere is another story entirely, but at least it allows me to hope that i will have the capability to buy as many of these games as i want. I'm with others who refuse to delete and re-download. Too many bad possibilities in that line of thinking, and i'm just opposed to it on principle.

Lost Winds looks amazing. I'm confident that I could love the WiiWare given time and some VC points (900 so I can't get Lost Winds - I want it so badly!).
Isn't world of goo coming to WiiWare as well? If so it'll be a must buy for me.

Actually, that would be the biggest surprise to me.
Everyone expects them to show Kid Icarus and Animal Crossing...but we have no idea if there'll EVER be an HDD still.

I'm definitely gonna get some WiiWare games if they make a Hard Drive. I bet they'll try to sell as a Wii Game peripheral like Wii Fit. "Wii Share"
Anyway I don't think they knew Downloads were gonna be so prevalent on their console so they played it safe and suck with 512MB of internal storage. Now just like the shortages they'll have to come out with a way to fix it and still make money.

Can anybody point me to any official info/interview as to whether or not WiiWare developers are going to be able to patch and/or update their games? There is obviously no technical limitation, so it was just be corporate or economic in nature...

I'll stick to my emulators. Old console games tend to be smaller and can be played longer, even with many short sittings. They also tend to cost less.
