Bruce Willis in talks to star in Kane and Lynch film adaptation
Bruce Willis is in talks to star in the upcoming Kane and Lynch film adaptation, reports Variety. Willis will play Adam "Kane" Marcus. That's one-half of the rumor from back in November 2007 that said Billy Bob Thornton was in talks for the role of Lynch. According to the Variety piece, the filmmakers are still looking for Lynch, with shooting to begin before the end of the year. The movie will be directed by Simon Crane, based on a script by Kyle Ward.

He should play Lynch not Kane, his 70's look in Lucky Number Slevin is almost identical to Lynch.
Naota @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:18PM
or he could do both
EMaster @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:07PM
I think those 2 would be perfect! I just hope it will be a good movie!
wickedpheonix @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:08PM
Looks like something to look forward to - I barely got past the first 2 levels because I couldn't stand the gameplay, but the story looked alright so the movie could be good.
NintenDood @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:11PM
I wonder if Jeff Gerstmann will make a cameo appearance....
AoE @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:14PM
hahahahahaha, that would be AWESOME
Sora267 @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:11PM
For this to work, it has to have product placement, receive a review that doesn't match up with its score, and it has to be the final straw in the firing of someone who nobody cared about until the firing.
Sora267 @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:12PM
I said product placement because it has to involve advertising in some shape or form.
Sarcasmic123 @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:18PM
Seems like a little redundant role if Billy Bob were to join. "Bandits" anyone?
Bellerophon @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:20PM
So I suppose this movie will be littered with f-bombs as well? Come on, it's gotta make it into the top 3 at least!

didn't he already do a movie like this with bill bob thorton?
T @ Jun 4th 2008 3:08PM
The characters played by Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton in Bandits would be nothing like the characters they'd play in Kane and Lynch...
C'mon. The whole gimmick of Bandits was that they never had weapons, they just robbed people by politely asking.
Rocko @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:59PM
are you kidding? How was Jason Statham not considered instead?
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:44PM
While the game blew, I don't think anyone can deny that the game had an interesting story. hopefully this will make a decent popcorn flick.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:45PM
aaaww fuck I didn't mean to respond to you. Anyways. Dude Bruce Willis>>>>>Jason Statham.
Zsavior @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:28PM
Wouldn't it be ironic if this game became a good video game movie. I game hailed as crap by the community becomes gold in the box office, I never played the game in any event so it would all be new to me.
ScottyGEE @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:45PM
I can see the headlines!
Poorly received video game becomes $212 million blockbuster!
In other news; Uwe Boll hangs himself out of shame, game industry cheers!
Brian Fantana @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:33PM
Don't do it.
Jhongerkong @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:43PM
Expect this movie to get 5 star ratings everywhere
Expect film critics suddenly buying Cadillacs afterwards
mutantediez @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:58PM
Oh dear lord this pisses me off. The fact that talent like Bruce's is being wasted on this. The story may seem interesting at the start but you will soon realize that the only somewhat likable character is Lynch who, despite being a murderous sociopath, is often the voice of reason in the game. There is no way I'm seeing this movie unless they either cut out the daughter completely or make her 2 years old because she is the most annoying character in anything ever. The Garth Ennis novel Pride and joy is a similiar story but much much better.
SonicRift @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:13PM
Lemme listen into the future for a sec...
"I give this film a 5 star rating. This review has been brought to you by Kane and Lynch, in theatres now!"
Ridgecity @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:17PM
Now you understand why they fired that guy that sacked this game, they were already selling it as a movie franchise...
Batzarro(A.K.A Rap-Rock Cameo) @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:45PM
It would be really really unfair to good games with good stories everywhere. But, meh.
brandon_r87 @ Jun 4th 2008 1:15AM
I have this friend who works in the film business and I saw this super early screening of it in secret, and I'd give it a 6.0.
Luke @ Jun 4th 2008 4:39AM
Yea right.
Imadogg @ Jun 4th 2008 7:22AM
I have this friend who works in the film business and I saw this super early screening of it in secret as well, and I'd give it an 8.0. Not bad.
brandon_r87 @ Jun 4th 2008 3:50PM
@Luke, it was an IMDb joke, every movie has a post like that. Also, I went with Gerstmann's score for the game.
OMGOMG @ Jun 4th 2008 2:23AM
Gamespot gives this 2 thumbs up!
sinai @ Jun 4th 2008 3:28AM
first gerstmann gate, then ebert and roeper gate?
Andrew K @ Jun 5th 2008 10:53AM
So what? Its Bandits all over again.
Mooseman721 @ Jun 4th 2008 2:59PM
Well great games make shit films, so maybe a shit game will make a great film. Most likely not though.
