Darkrai to stalk our dreams at Nintendo World Store
5
Pokémaniacs, take note: between now and the end of June, the Nintendo World Store in New York will be offering Darkrai as a free download. That means you've got precisely twenty-seven days to save up for and book a flight/ferry/coach ticket to the Big Apple to scoop one of the more elusive thirteen Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Diamond or Pearl (note: there are certain other methods to obtaining Darkrai that lack scruples).
If you were looking for a perfect excuse for a break in The City That Never Sleeps, this could be it. Just don't forget to send us a postcard.

Not a single post on DS Fanboy about the TRU Darkrai Event over the weekend (yes, I know you posted about it once ... weeks ago).
Shame on DS Fanboy.
I had to go elsewhere to read about people's experiences at the TRU event (like Gamespot ... [shiver]).
AFAIK, Pokemon is the 2nd best selling game on the DS. Yet nothing on Darkrai over the weekend ...
End of rant ...
Living near a Nintendo World ... priceless.
Peace.

Just a heads up, people:
You can get ANOTHER Darkrai if you head to the World Store; I did it with the Manaphy event. Picked one up at TRU, found out the Store was having an event and headed over there. It's great.

Maybe I'm just an ass, but I don't think it lacks scruples to use "other methods" of attaining event only Pokemon through methods like the AR or whatever else is out there.
The Pokemon tagline is "gotta' catch 'em all". Well, guess what? I want them all. HOWEVER...
The nearest Toys R Us to my house is over three hours away, and I don't have a car, nor is their public transport. And I live halfway across the country from the Pokemon Center.
To top it off, even if I could get to my nearest Toys R Us, they don't have a download station.
And to make matters worse: I'm in England at the moment anyways!
I'm sorry, but COMPLETING a game should not require me to spend thousands of dollars to go halfway across the country.
That doesn't require skill to attain, it doesn't require anything more than having rich parents. So WHY is it more scrupulous to go to the Nintendo World store than to use an AR to unlock the Pokemon on your game yourself?
It's not.
Being unscrupulous would be hacking your Pokemon to all be level two million and pwning people with them online. Not simply unlocking a pokemon that you have absolutely no other way of ever attaining.
Frankly, I think Nintendo should make a channel for unlocking content on the DS via the Wii. It's a lot simpler to go to a friends place to get something unlocked than it is to try to find your way to a Toys R Us for only two whopping days or the Pokemon Store. Grr.

And before someone blows their top about how I afforded to go to England if I can't afford to go to New York:
My husband is British, and he took out a loan to get me here so we wouldn't have to be apart. So, as I said, I don't have the money for going to NY by any means.
