i thought the gamecube etc.. had fully progammabe shaders? It just does them in a totally different way...

Flipper had a very early pixel shader technology called TEX. It was nowhere near as powerful and programmable as the shaders that materialized around DirectX, but they were still quite good.

That does look terrible, graphics wise.

Now, i'm not one of the usual graphics obsessed, wii bashing fanboys. I really like cartoon or even simplistic graphics if they are done well, and with style.

But that game just looks BAD. It looks far worse than something like Windwaker, BG&E, Psychonauts or even Wii Sports, cos it has no style and nothing attractive about it. simple graphics are fine if they are done with style... but just making lazy graphics is pathetic.

For now it doesn't offer much but it really has the potential to be another worthy title from Capcom.
