A major addition to the gameplay has yet to be revealed, but according to McElroy, the game looks like a very polished version of Resident Evil 4 -- not that that's a bad thing, of course. The Gamecube action game remains a modern classic. To see more of his impressions, click here.

Joystiq's Justin McElroy went to Capcom's CAPTIVATE event in Las Vegas to check out the most recent build of Resident Evil 5. "Right now, in the development process we're about 60 percent of the way through," producer Jun Takeuchi said through a translator. "We're figuring that the total play time in the game will be over 20 hours. As you can probably see from the trailer there's a lot of different content and materials in the game for you to enjoy."

Here's hoping Capcom shows us PS3 owners some love and adds in extra content (more levels especially) to fill our empty 50gb BluRays. How can companies keep making games that are the same length as that 'other' console when our beloved PS3 has 5 times the storage? Holy PSOne DVD versus Dreamcast CD, or in this case PS3 BluRay vs 360 DVD. Please Capcom, please don't disappoint.

You mean PS2 DVD versus Dreamcast GD (their funky gigabyte-cd-type-thing) right? Having said that, i remember early ps2 games like SSX being on CD...
Anyway, i agree with your point. I'm sure the time will come when DVD is just too small for anything worthwhile - it's just taking longer than i thought it would. I mean, flash storage is larger than DVD these days. Funny old world.

Those Zombies look like the vampires from Blade 2 when they open their mouths.
This game will probably be the best mutliplatform game of this generation. Visually it looks somewhat better than GTA4 (which I thought looked terrible).
