The World Ends With You: new shipment coming mid-June

"The World Ends with You is right on track with our forecast- we felt the game's unique and innovative gameplay and stylistic art direction would lend to the title doing very well.
"It may be hard for your readers to find the game because the first shipment did sell more quickly than expected. However, our next round of replenishment units is on-schedule to be in stores by mid-June, so there will be more units available soon."

great game people with ds should get it.
also hopefully this will prove that new creative things are just as profitable.
SabreCat @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:02AM
Well, new creative things with a huge established company name behind them, at least.
(I don't disagree with you, but I do wonder if a smaller outfit with a similar project would enjoy similar success.)
Sami @ Jun 3rd 2008 6:16PM
Sabrecat, but it bombed in Japan.
We'll see how Black Sigil fares when it hits in July.
Fernando Rocker @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:45AM
This game is very good. Highly recommended.
Square Enix is developing another DS game called Sigma Harmonics... hope it can match this game.
Now, where's my Final Fantasy VI remake? I want to see those Magitek in 3D.
=p
Ignatius @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:46AM
Yahtzee might have helped that.
Superstar90 @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:46AM
And then Square Enix realized that people wanted new IPs instead of remakes of remakes of remakes of 20 year old games.
And we all lived happily ever after.
Fernando Rocker @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:52AM
There are some games that deserve a remake.
The Dragon Quest games remakes is a good thing, I haven't played Dragon Quest V... and a Super Mario RPG for the DS would be nice too.
Reeve @ Jun 3rd 2008 12:47PM
Amen to that! So much creativity gets wasted on endless remakes and spinoffs. Not that I don't like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, but I also love seeing something new every once in awhile (like TWEWY, which is fantastic).
samfish @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:48AM
I'm going to make it a point to buy this, just to see what all the fuss is about.
John Z @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:03AM
You will not be disappointed, my friend.
Nigeria @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:52AM
If you have a DS you should really try out this game. It's wonderful.
McWeen @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:54AM
I've seen copies everywhere in my area...of course the college kids all went home for the summer.
Princess Skittles @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:02AM
This is the best game on the system! Glad to hear it is doing well!
John Z @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:10AM
I bet that S-E exec who said that his employees "need to stop making games only they want to play" is shivering for warmth in the spacious cardboard box he now calls home. If not, he'd better be. S-E is a "core" game producer, and there's quite a bit of overlap between the kinds of games programmers want to play and the kinds of games the traditional S-E fan wants to play. As in, they're exactly the same.
TWEWY is short but fun. I hope that you folks get a chance to enjoy it.
baby sea tuna @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:27AM
The gameplay of this one is quite intriguing, but the art style reminds me just how stupid and lame kids are these days.
Godmil @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:40AM

Gatta love PR.

Zetta love PR!

My local game store has an overwhelming amount of copies NOT being sold.
scaught @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:01AM
Holy shit....this game is $39.99?! Forget that....I am too cheap of a bastard to buy this game yo!
creid @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:47AM
It was on sale for 30 at Circuit City and Amazon a few weeks ago. May happen again.
rikki @ Jun 3rd 2008 12:43PM
Yeah, waiting for the price drop/sale/used copy here.
This is Squeenix we're talking about; most of their recent games are readily available even years after release. I don't expect this one to buck the trend, especially given how well it's sold.
Donald @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:24AM
Calling is now playing in your head.
Guard @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:53AM
I had a hard time finding it. No Gamestops had it, but we walked into a Game City 360 in the area (Cincinnati) and they had them in stock, so it was just luck I found one.
Dr. @ Jun 3rd 2008 12:26PM
I couldn't find it in any local stores, but Amazon had it in stock a couple weeks ago.
David @ Jun 3rd 2008 1:04PM
Even though it was 39.99 at my local Circuit City, I think it was worth every penny. Game is too good to pass up.
Gokie @ Jun 3rd 2008 1:37PM
On one hand, it's a fantastic game, and I'm glad that the game buying populace is appreciating that. On the other hand, I'm annoyed that this may validate Square-Enix's sense of entitlement to charge more for their DS games than everybody else.
billychaos @ Jun 3rd 2008 1:41PM
If anyone hasnt notice all Square-Enix games for the DS are 39.99. Why that is I dont know. Regardless, I had lost a little bit of faith in Square-Enix games ever since Final Fantasy XI. After playing The World Ends with you and Final Fantasy XII for the DS, I see now that they still have what it takes to come up with unique game play that works and is really enjoyable.
Conor @ Jun 3rd 2008 5:42PM
Great game, even if your not really into the jRPG's like I am.
jmf @ Jun 3rd 2008 7:09PM
I've been hunting for this game and couldn't find it anywhere, so this is great news.
KeenCommander @ Jun 4th 2008 12:17AM
Tried it, was completely turned off by yet another game with unnecessary touchscreen controls, not going to buy it.
ALLoGISTIC1 @ Jun 4th 2008 1:03PM
I've also had difficulty finding a copy at any of my local game retailing haunts. Hopefully, this equates to some measure of sales success. This is a game that has taken word of mouth(interntet mouths?) to generate interest despite positive reviews and a point against games having to sell well within their first week to be successful... much like the steam building up around Lost odyssey lately, a game that reviewed averagely, but word is spreading around the community months after its release, that wait..this game is actually pretty good and worth buying.
Suiname @ Jun 24th 2008 5:36PM
Weird, I found a used copy the week after this came out (someone clearly stole it and sold it for profit). This game rules though, best original sqeenix IP I've played in a while.
