MGS4 receives 'perfect' score from Famitsu

Japanese games mag giant Famitsu has rated Metal Gear Solid 4 and bestowed it with its highest honor: a score of 40/40. MGS4 is the first PS3 title to receive such high praise from the magazine's editors. It has already picked up similarly glowing scores from European and Western publications.

Famitsu has only handed out a 40/40 score to seven other games in its history: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64), Soulcalibur (DC), Vagrant Story (PS), The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (GCN), Nintendogs (DS), Final Fantasy XII (PS2), and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii). We imagine Otacon is peeing his pants right about now.

I was with Famitsu up until they gave H4.5ZE 36/40. Anyone who does that instantly loses all credibility.

Also, Edge gave this 8/10, and they're normally pretty on the mark. The perfect scores do seem to have been handed out willy nilly in the last 12 months.

I have to disagree with you. between fernando and serpiente, you are the biggest douche. First of all Fernando is sometimes funny, but more often coldly logical, and i remember when serpiente first started sharing his opinions, he constantly got 3 hearts, and he often made very clever and HILARIOUS comments and often shut idiots up, and I bet you were jealous.

Since a month ago i believe, it stopped, and i heard it's because he wished someone dead, and I'm sure that made you pleased. Oh wellz. I still + heart all his comments.

Either way marquis, you're an arrogant and condescending hypocrite, and you are NEVER EVER funny and you know it. always, always MEAN. There is no need for this "meanness" in a video game blog. Hey fernando, if you acknowledged and agreed with famitsu's perfect score for mario kart wii, logically, you should agree with their perfect score for mgs4. NO? Lol and their 36 for haze.

That's okay. It was a good make-out session, but a bit easier on the downstroke next time. :)

There was more, but the point is, I was thinking the same thing serpiente lol. It could mean that we sensed each others thoughts,oOOoo, but it's most likely because marquis' comments were so shallow. You be the judge. And I know i said he's dead to me, but that's a mistake. Ever since I watched the Grudge, and Grudge 2, I'm really afraid dead people. Marquis just repulses me.

MGS4 related comment: I'm really worried about it's release date being on a Thursday. I preordered from amazon for an overnight delivery, but if it won't make it for Friday, i won't get to play it that weekend!! Darn, look at the time - GOODNIGHT.

this will probably only live up to the hype for true fans of mgs... from what i've read and seen from the game it doesn't seem like it would be an overall good game that anyone can pick up and enjoy (and not just because they won't be familiar with the storyline)...

As glad as I am to see this, it hardly matters anymore. Famitsu gives out perfect scores like its a competition. Im sure if this was developed by a western developer it would have scored 35-8.
