Back long ago in May of 2008, we thought we'd have a few months before this feature got hard to do, which is to say, we thought it would be easy until October or so. But here we are in June and we've got a full slate of things to spend your money on. And these aren't even all the good (or at least interesting) ones. Don't believe it?
Read on, savvy shopper, read on!

You totally forgot about Stardock's up and coming new PC political thriller: The Poltical Machine 2008 which releases June 16. Seriously, the first game was a lot of fun and this one seems to be boasting even more to do.
For shame Joystiq... for shame.

I COULD have continued to play that for some time in the absence of my ongoing obsession with Radiant Dawn, along with the releases of Mario Kart and Okami
As it is, i haven't played it in some time. Chasing that 100% completion could concievably take a long time

To everybody pissed off by GH:Aerosmith, the next band focused GH game is going to be Metallica.
Activision confirmed it a few days ago.
Just google GH: Metallica or check gamestop's latest news.
Personally, Metallica is my second favorite band, so I'll definitely get this game eventually. Here's to hoping they get around to doing a GH: Iron Maiden.

eh, I like a few aerosmith songs, but not enough to justify purchasing that game. I'd prefer if they'd just release it as DLC for GH3.

Hahahaha.
It still makes me laugh. There's always those people who are just so deep into belief that Rock Band is teh supeereor that they don't even consider Guitar Hero. Yes, Rock Band has much better downloadable content, but I don't really see that as the make-or-break for the games.
Rock Band is a good investment, I've got it, and it's pretty fun. I've also got GH3, which I prefer much more over playing the guitar parts in Rock Band. I really only play the drums on RB, and sing, but mostly just dick around while singing. Seeing as how GH4's drumset is actually vaguely similar to a cheap electronic drumset, I'm guessing I'm going to prefer GH4's drums over Rock Bands.
There's not much GH can do to fuck up the drums. I still really don't think GH3 fucked up guitar. There's a bigger window to hit the notes in, but if it really bothers you so much, you can just put in a code and get that window taken away. And for all the little dumbasses that whine about how GH3 "adds" notes to the songs, its fucking guitar hero! It's not like you're playing it on an actual guitar. You have 5 fucking buttons to push, it's pretty god damn hard to accurately chart a song onto 5 buttons, unless that song only has 5 different notes in it. I realize I'm not getting anywhere near the same experience playing GH as I am playing a real guitar, and so I expect GH to be fun and challenging, rather than trying to be accurate and life like.
Anyways, enough for my rant. I just wish people wouldn't try to sound like Mr. "Makes Decisions and Draws Lines to Seem Like He's Important and Knows What He's Doing" and just accept that Rock Band and GH both have their ups and downs, and if you can afford both and have the room for both, they both compliment each other very well.

Mr. Breeg,
While I agree that people sometimes overstate the goodness of Rock Band, I do agree with them that Guitar Hero III was a step down from the first two.
First of all, I shouldn't have to put in a code to make the game play the way it should have to begin with. There are times in Guitar Hero III where I pass a solo and think to myself "how did that happen? I completely screwed it up." That's when my actions don't seem to correspond to the results and it ruins the immersion and fun of the game.
Secondly, despite having a kickass soundtrack, somehow the songs in Guitar Hero III aren't that fun to play. Maybe it's just me, but songs that I love like Welcome to the Jungle just sucked in that game. I don't know why, or whether it's the developers' fault or not, but that's been my experience.
That said, I will admit that Guitar Hero III has the better controller (which I use to play Rock Band), and Rock Band did lose some points when I downloaded the Nine Inch Nails pack only to find that it had me play the piano parts on guitar... talk about lame.

+1 Benjamin.
I've always said Guitar Hero is more "fun" while Rock Band is more "pure to music".
Personally, I just want to have fun and rock out when playing these games. I prefer the crazier note charts (though GH's hard really isn't that much crazier than RB's expert 98% of the time) and larger hit windows to Rock Band's boring note charts and anal retentive timing that makes me concentrate on the screen so hard that my eyes feel like they're about to bleed.
It sounds like GH amplifies the guitar parts of the song a bit too so you can actually "hear" what you're playing, whereas often in Rock Band I'm strumming along and can't here the correlating sound that I'm supposedly making in the song. It's more true to the real song, but less fun to play imho.

I agree. Guitar Hero II was a very good game...from which Rock Band was the next logical step forward. Guitar Hero 3, on the other hand, was a creatively bankrupt mess. Aerosmith is, at worst, a cheap cash-in product and, at best, a glorified (overpriced) expansion pack. Since (at least) 3 upcoming versions will be made by the same people, based on the same architecture and art style, I can only assume that they will continue to stagnate creatively.
Let's also remember that these were the guys who successfully managed to ram the Tony Hawk games into the ground so thoroughly that their publisher decided to temporarily suspend development on them. Needless to say, my faith in this franchise has waned as of late.
That Les Paul, though...at least Red Octane has *their* shit together.

I'm interested in the Don King game only because of all the fun I had with Fight Night round 3. If the game is anything like that, definite buy for me.
Also seeing as there is a growing fanbase now, are they ever going to make an MMA-type game?

Too bad its being made by THQ, woulda prefered 2K or even EA. Actually I'm a little surprised EA hasn't made one yet. They will, the sport is getting too big for them not to make a game. I'm a MMA addict.
Best. Man to Man Combat Sport. Ever.

You know, I was skeptical of it initially... but after DLing the demo, I'm actually a shred impressed. The graphics are vibrantly well done(some of the polys clip here and there due to the "extensive hair don'ts", but that's being nitpicky)and the fighting engine is pretty exciting. I might pick it up myself before the month's out.

Yeah, I had a bit of interest in it from the first time I saw it, mostly because I'm a huge DB fan, but the demo really sealed the deal for me. I love the graphics, looks nearly identical to the anime, and the gameplay is extremely fun in my opinion.

It was better when it was called budokai 3.
Seriously if you still have that there's no reason to buy this unless you're just obsessed with online gameplay. They severely gimped the amount of characters, took out the majin buu saga, reduced the number of levels by 1 or 2, took out some of the moves in budokai 3, and I believe took out world tournament mode.
