EA and Crytek have officially announced the development of Crysis Warhead, "a parallel story" to hardware-taxing tropical shooter, Crysis. Built by Crytek's Budapest studio atop an optimized version of the CryEngine 2 technology, Crysis Warhead sees players squeezing into the nanosuit of Sergeant Sykes, affectionately dubbed "Psycho," and learning that "life on the other side of the island is even more intense and explosive than they ever could have imagined." Given all the eyeball-melting events in Crysis, we reckon they're capable of imagining quite a bit.
Crytek president and CEO, Cevat Yerli, found the original game's reception by gamers and the media to be quite pleasing, but noted to the studio's intention to raise the ol' bar. "With Warhead, we are focusing on refining our storytelling and game performance, while also delivering more of the visually stunning graphics and immersive, free-roaming gameplay everyone loved in Crysis," he said. Expect more weapons, more vehicles and more multiplayer content when Crysis Warhead nukes lesser computers this Fall.

I believe someone predicted the Psycho parralel stroyline in the other Warhead post. Congratualtions to them.
Looking forward to some more detail.

I think you are right though; A console game would make a hell of a lot more money. This isn't the smartest business move.

If they can fit them with their heads shoved up there.
Back on topic: Crysis's audience was quite limited due to the behemoth system requirements and the piracy issues (not everyone who WANTED the game actually paid for it).
Wouldn't it make (economic) sense to port this bad-boy to as many consoles as possible asap? Maybe THEN make another PC exclusive?
Then again, neither can any PC.
And that's not because of high system requirements, it's because of an extremely shoddy, inefficient game engine.

However I hope that after Warhead is finished they roll some of that optimised engine back into Crysis, and fix the few bad bugs.
"Yeah.. Sorry guys.. All those that bought Crysis... Yeah.. This is the real game.. Sorry about that"

Oh wait... Who the hell bought this game ? I thought everyone just downloaded it through BitTorrent.
I mean, really. I don't know a single PC Gamer that actually buys PC games. They all download them. Just to quote one of them: "Why would I buy the games, I already have to spend on hardware every few months. The games should be free." Thats their logic.
Thats why I don't like PC Gamers. That and the fact that they measure their PC's like if they were comparing their penis.
Teh Ghey :(

I think Psycho is everyone's favorite character from Crysis.
And when you ask him at the end of the game "Where have you been?" and he answers "You wouldn't believe it", I thought the developer was just sissying out, and didn't have a real reason for him to be away. But now I'm happy, that they put more Psycho into the story.
Not to mention that I want more of those amazing battles against koreans.

It runs on med/low settings on an 8600gt, which is $100, but I dont think any $30 GPU could handle this
Won't run Crysis at full settings, but it'll run it.
And the obvious bitterness/envy displayed by some people in this thread makes the news even nicer.

Also sorta happy its a PC exclusive, I first started out as a PC gamer but transitioned to consoles obviously because of their lower cost.
Still, PCs have some advantages consoles don't have but they are bridging the gap, such as with DLC and mods which PC games have had forever.

Is this going to be a free to play game that runs in your web browser that you can pay for extra items and is supported by Coke ads every three feet?
