Those waiting for more Grand Theft Auto IV content will have to wait a little bit longer. According to Take-Two's Fiscal Q3 2008 report, the first batch of GTA IV downloadable content will be coming in Q1 of fiscal 2009, instead of the originally planned Q4 of fiscal 2008. In real calendar terms, that means the DLC, which is rumored to include whole new cities, is due between November 1, 2008, and January 31, 2009.
The reason behind the delay, according to Take-Two, was to "provide a better balance in Take-Two's release schedule." The statement specifically mentioned Xbox 360, with no talk of content for the PS3.

How funny would it be if Rockstar added a spoof of the city of Stilwater for the DLC and the missions consisted of you wiping out the entire cast of Saint's Row.

Looks to me like Rockstar may have delayed the DLC in order to release it more closely to the recently delayed Saint's Row 2 by THQ. Like it or not, the original Saint's Row was a million + seller and Rockstar mustn't be unaware of that.

I'll be long bored of the game by 2009. What a terrible investment that was.
They should have made a deal that the DLC was available on the day of release. No one is going to care about extra content for a year old game. Not PS3 owners, not 360 owners, not PC owners, not even Wii owners who don't even get the game.
What a total bust. Oh well.

I thought fiscal year 2008 equals calendar year July 2007 through June 2008. Doesn't this announcement mean somewhere between calendar year July 2008 and September 2008 (fiscal year 2009 Q1)? Or does Take Two match their fiscal year to calendar year?

Better that way, I'll be bored or have just moved on by the time I reach 100%, so the later it comes the more I'll want to play it. Plus, theres just too much stuff this fall into the holidays.
